Hi Amani, this is L. S. R. I don't know if you remember me. We trained together in Nyack. I used to teach the 12-1 class. I read on your website that you now have twins!! Congratulations. My son R. is now 6!

I was wondering if you remember my liniment? It used to be Winner's Edge Dit Da Jow. I simply call it Jow now. I still make it! Now that I have a 6 year old to help feed and educate I've been focused on getting it out there. I was wondering if you had any advice for me? Or an opinion about Jow? Anything at all that can possibly help me expand?

Amani:  Sure, I remember you and your liniment. I think you need to mainstream your product more because I think most people will just look at it and write it off. The name should explain what it does, otherwise they’ll go buy Ben Gay, a product they already know.

Hi Amani, I have been a fan of yours since my son and I saw you in the first preseason game you played for the Giants. I turned to my son and said "He is going to be a great football player." I wasn't wrong. You are my all time favorite NY Giant. I was very sad when the Giants cut you. I'm hoping that you are enjoying "retirement" as I am - I'm a 67 year old grandma!! But I love pro football and the NY Giants. Is there any chance that we might see you on TV as an announcer? That would be fantastic! Also any chance that you might retire as a NY Giant? Take care, be well, and thanks for all of the thrilling moments as a Giant! I. H.

Amani:  Thank you for your continued support.

I do plan to retire as a Giant at some point and I hope you will see me in the broadcast booth in future years.

Amani, I hope you are doing well after football. As a Giants fan, you were one of my favorite players all-time and I wish you the best in your post-football endeavors. Hopefully, we'll see you in the broadcast booth. F. U. Amani:  Thank you, F.  I hope you'll see me in the broadcast booth, too.
Hello, Mr. Toomer, I just wanted to let you know that you are my son's new hero!  My husband and I adopted him and his sister from Ethiopia in December of last year (they've been in the US for about 3 ½ months now).  My son is named Amanuel (and the Ethiopian nickname for that is Amani).  Once Amani was able to speak English relatively well, he started requesting that we change his name to something more American.  Once hefound out that there was an American football player named Amani, he became far more proud of his name and its heritage.  From a mother's perspective, I'm grateful that you are the kind of man that we can be happy to hold up to him as a role model.  Many thanks, and God bless.  L. V. D.

Amani:   Thank you.  I am both proud and humbled that you consider me a worthy role model for your son.

Tell Amani from me please that his is a name to be proud of.

from a 48 year season ticket holder, please have your agent get a one day contract with the giants so we can celebrate your retirement in giants stadium. a few giants have done it in the past, and you should be honored by the team and the fans one more time.

Amani:  Thank you.  I do plan to do exactly that at some point and hope you will be there to support me one last time.

Amani:  I am sitting in the Houston airport watching the NFL combine results and I thought of you.  I hope you are happy and have a good life.  It was fun to watch you play all those years but better to have known you at DLS.  Be good my old friend!  S. W. Amani:  It’s great to hear from you, S.  It’s been a long time so let me know what you’ve been up to.
Dear Mr. Toomer, Do you remenber me when i met you at go cart place? I am the one with underarmor shirt and i am asian and im in the left.  Thank you. Amani:  Of course I remember you.  It’s good to hear from you again.
Hey Amani...I've been a GIANTS fan since my Dad said that I was going to be one back in the early 70's when the GMEN were horrible.  Being that I loved & respected him...I stuck with the team.  THANK GOD that I did.  Super Bowl 21 was GREAT because it was our first, Super Bowl 25 was awesome because we were big time under dogs but the win in Super Bowl 42 will always be the best ever.  ((Notice how I left out Super Bowl35!!!))  Needless to say that I missed you making catch after catch this year. CONGRATS on a GREAT career and for being the GIANTS all-time leading receiver. TRUST ME when I say that I wore my 81 Jersey almost every week when I watched the GMEN with my friends.  You will always be one of my favorite GIANTS!!!  GOOD LUCK in the future.  I hope to see you in a broadcast booth soon!!!  N. Amani:  Thanks for writing, N.  I hope you get your wish.
BEEN A GIANTS FAN SINCE 1978, WITNESSED ONE STUPID MOVE AFTER ANOTHER-YOUR DEPARTURE WAS THE MOST FOOLISH YET-IF WE DISSED YOU WE ARE SORRY- WE NEED YOU- PLEASE COME BACK. P.S. THE PLAY AGAINST THE COWBOYS IN THE PLAYOFFS WAS AWESOME! –E. IN DENVER

Amani: E., I appreciate your continued support but don’t see myself going back to the Giants.  They’re committed to a youth movement and I’m looking forward to a career in broadcasting.

Dear Mr. Toomer:  You have been my favorite Giants football player ever and I truly miss seeing you on the field.  Would it be possible for you to put on your website any appearances you may be making for the public to see you?  I heard on ESPN radio that you will be at some event they are having (I think it might be Monday night football) but I can never catch where.  Thank you and I wish you continued success in your life. K. Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail, K.  I agree that this is something I should do and will try to keep you posted.
Amani, I am one of your most appreciative fans. You replaced and far surpassed a guy that I really liked, in Chris Calloway. You became mr. consistent and maintained that role for years.  I wouldn't want to play for the giants again either, but you HAVE to play somewhere man! You're still better than at least 40% of the receivers in this league; don't let time pass you by. And by the way, how about them Chiefs, they obviously know what they're doing...First and foremost, enjoy those babies when they get here; second, please don't lose your desire to return to the game. Sincerely  S.DB. Amani:  Thanks for the kind words, S.  I’ll have to wait and see what happens with regard to playing again but I certainly plan to enjoy the twins.
The Lions are calling your name Amani!!  SSG B.,WARRIOR TRANSITION UNIT

Amani:  We’ll see.

Hi Amani,  Congratulations to you and your fiancee and I pray for the deliverance of healthy babies for the both of you.  How  exciting! Also, I wish you much success in commentating.  I haven't caught you as of yet, but I will definitely look for you.  I always thought that you would be excellent in that capacity because you are knowledgeable about the sport and very articulate.  I still miss seeing you play though.  Best Wishes, T (from the Bronx) Amani:  Thank you.  My fiancée and I are very excited about the twins.  And of course we’re also excited about what we hope will be a new career for me.
Hey Amani what would you say if Dallas wanted to sign you right away and put you in a big role in the recieving core.  What would be your answer? A Really Big Fan From The Cowboy Fan Nation, Thanks L.D. Amani:  I think I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it, L.
Amani,I've been meaning to write you since the summer.  I just wanted to say thank you for all you did while you were a member of the Giants to contribute to their success, and deliver in the clutch (time and time again) for the team and the fans.  Without a doubt I admire you skill and ability, but I also admire you professionalism and the way you conduct yourself on and off the field.  I was particularly impressed when Plax came to the team, on how you continued to find significant ways to contribute.  One thing I will always remember, and remind other football fans, was your ability to execute the sideline toe-tap catch.  Something I think you perfected during your career.I want you to know that I'm a Lt Col in the US Air Force, and I work in the Pentagon.  The Pentagon is an amazing building and a museum of sorts(functioning of course).  If you are ever in DC and would care to have atour of the building, I would be happy to make all the arrangements foryou.  I could ensure your visit would be low key if that's what you prefer.  A long shot I know, but I wanted to put that out there. My family has season tickets we inherited from my Grandfather.  Our seatsare located 3 rows behind the Giant bench and I've been to many games inthat stadium.  You clearly stand prominently in the collection of amazingmemories I have about Giant Stadium and the Giants.  Good luck in yourfuture endeavors and God bless you and your family.  Sincerely,Lt Col F. A., USAF, Air Force Pentagon Amani:  you know, I think that is something I’d enjoy doing sometime and I’d be honored to have you as my guide.
hi my name is m. toomer i am a big fan of you and i was wonder how you  got the last name toomer and if we are related in some way please i need to know this Amani: You don’t say what part of the country you’re from so it’s hard to speculate but Toomer isn’t a very common name so it’s possible that we are related.
Just wanted to say what a pleasure it has been over the years watching you play for my GMEN. The catches that you have made keeping those feet in-bounds were amazing. You will always be true-blue to me and hope that you sign with someone and continue to play. Its funny, last night, i was playing Madden 10 and you were a Denver Bronco! That was weird. You caught your 700th pass and other milestones! lol. B. H. Jr. Amani:  I appreciate having your continued support.  Though I hope to play for another one-two years, I have other plans if that doesn't work out.
You know, I heard Peter King say on Sirius NFL radio this off season that he would be absolutely astounded if you didn't get signed somewhere this season. I truly hope he was right, because along with being a lifelong Giants fan, I have always been a big Toomer fan. I really miss hearing "Manning completes to Toomah!". (Did that pronunciation just drive you nuts or what? ;-D) Best of luck! H. G. Amani:  I didn't hear Peter King say that so I appreciate your letting me know.  Thanks for your support.
Amani, When you and Tyrone Wheatley first came out of Michigan and signed with the Giants, it was great. My son in law,Jeff and I had both you and Tyrone for an autograph signing in the Phillipsburg mall in Phillipsburg, N.J.. You signed a lot of autographs that day, but the greatest was meeting you. I have followed your career with the Giants, because I have always been a Giant fan.I Will surely miss you playing for them. But I got to see you for 13 great years. Iwish you the best in the rest of your career.  Thanks, R. B.

Amani:  Thank you for your support.  I appreciate your taking the time to write.

Hi Amani, I sure wish you were back on the Giants. You gave them many great years. Any chance?  D. in NJ

Amani:  No, I appreciate your support, D. but there’s no chance of that happening.

Amani, You would be a perfect fit for the Oakland Raiders.  They could use a veteran, possession type receiver to compliment their younger  receiving corps.  D. D. Amani:  My folks would love that too because it would bring me back to California.
Nicks is out, and Hixon went down yesterday. It's time to bring youback, don't you think? I am a big Giant fan, and they should bring youback. Amani: I appreciate your continued support but don’t see myself going back to the Giants.  They have other young receivers waiting for a chance to show what they can do and, with the injuries, they’ll probably get their opportunity.
I am a big fan of the Dolphins, and right now (as many others are), quitedisappointed with the team.  They need help offensively and defensively. Why don't you get your agent to contact the Miami Dolphins? I am more than sure you would be able to help the offense and take pressure off of Pennington and get the offensive moving in the right direction. Thank you for your time.  R. D. P. Amani: Teams don’t always see things the way we do, R. but if they were to contact me, I’d certainly consider it.

Amani;  I have been a big Giants fan ever since I saw them play the Lions in the Meadowlands 30
yrs ago with my Dad.
The past 13 years I have enjoyed watching you play for Bog blue and was sad when you left
(especially seeing Smith and Hixon drop those passes!!!)  I always considered you a insurance package given those soft hands and smart play-making.

KC needs to know that veterans are key for a young team like KC, what a stupid move to
cut you.  no doubt you will be picked up fast(hopefully not Detroit though :-)  Well best of luck!
Regards, a long time fan   S.P.

It saddened me when you left NY

Amani:  Thank you for your continued support.  It’s really appreciated.

you have to play...who will berman call well dressed? please come back to ol' big blue. S.M.

Amani:  I’m sorry but I don’t see myself returning to the Giants, S.

Sorry to read that the Chiefs released you.  You are a solid player and a class act.   Wishing you the best along whatever path you take next in life.  Make it a rich one!  Best,  K.

Amani:  Thank you for your support, K.

NO! This cannot be happing! I feel so bad for you Amani! It is just not
fair! I'm so sad I can't type anymore today. Please stay in touch.  I was so
looking forward to seeing you with my Dad at the KC game.  B. H.

Amani:  Don’t feel so bad, B.  These things have a way of working out for the best.

Hi Amani.  It is a done deal!!!!! My Dad got us tickets to the game on October 4th. Dad
said it will be about a four hour drive to the stadium but I will be so excited the drive will go fast.  We will be sitting high up but at the 40 yard line on the Giants sideline.  We would like to see you practice before the game and say Hi.  I'm so happy. Do you have the same jersey number
Amani?  Remember to listen for us! We will be really loud ok.
God Bless and have a great game!  We will cheer for you.  But hope the
Giants win (sorry).  Your Biggest fan from Iowa.  B.H.

Amani:  I’ll listen for you, B.  My jersey number isn’t necessarily permanent until after the final cut down to the 53-man roster so it’s better to check on it after that.

As a lifetime Giants fan of over 40 years, I just wanted to wish you best of luck in
KC. I don't think I've ever seen anybody better in the game at making those sideline
catches and dragging your toes to get both feet in. Classic Amani Toomer.
I am really disappointed that the Giants didn't see the wisdom of keeping you around.
It was obvious that Eli was always confident that he could go to you in a pinch. Also,
having your mature, no-drama, disciplined approach to the game would have been
invaluable in bringing along the crop of young receivers. You could have shared with
them your hard-won wisdom, knowledge, and experience, and that alone would have paid
dividends years after you were gone. I think it was a big missed opportunity for Big
Blue. Thanks for all the great memories. You will be missed!  Best regards, G.I.

Amani:  Thank you for e-mailing, G.  I too have a lot of great memories at Giants Stadium.

Well i really thought it was a no brainer for the giant's to re-sign you,But like you said they have different plans....You will be missed,Every time i watch my Giant's take the field it won't be the same not seeing you take the field for Big Blue.  Best wishes....a fan.   T.N.

Amani:  It’s going to be a different experience for me too after playing my entire career with the Giants.

Very sad to not see you on the field with the Giants; but wanted to wish you all the best in KC.  You, are a model player on and off the field and in the news for all the right reasons.  You, will be very missed; but always cheered for. D.B.

Amani:  And I’ll miss all the great Giants fans that supported me for so many years.

Hi Amani:  I am so sorry to see you go...I was really hoping and praying the Giants would wake up and sign you for another season....shame on them....you were the classiest player they have ever seen....I wish you the best in KC and look forward to the reaction when you play the Giants.....you will make KC very proud....thank you for all your years and great catches over the years.....Take care, M. E.

Amani:  Thanks for taking the time to e-mail me, M.E.  I really appreciate your support.

My friend,You know that I have been a Giants fan all of my life, but I hope that you gain over 200 yards with 3 TDs against them...and their passing game doesn't gain 100 yards vs KC.  We still have a book to finish...although you keep changing my focus on it! That is a good thing though.
I hope that you have the best year of your career in KC and prove all of the naysayers wrong for doubting that you weren't STILL the best NYG receiver.  Best regards, M. F.
...by the way, actual fans still think that the Jints were crazy not to use you more and resign you...I probably talk to more of them than the "office dwellers" in the Meadowlands ever did..

Amani:  Hey, M. it’s good to hear from you and I’m hoping for a good year in KC as well.

I don't have? question I just wanted to wish you luck on the up coming season.? I am a huge Giants fan and I can remeber when you where drafted from Michigan even though I was only ten.? My Dad was so excited that day, but I wasn't really sure why.? Of course 13 years later I now know.? You're one of the greatest Giants in my lifetime and I'm sorry to see you go.? I understand that the NFL is a business, but they Giants did you wrong.? After all you have done for that team they just threw you away like you were some backup.? One of the greatest games I think I have seen was the 2000 NFC Championship game against the Vikings.? You were awesome that day.? I never was a big Kerry Collins fan, but you two together was amazing.? Unfortunatly you didn't win it that year, however you still have your Super Bowl ring with the Giants and I guess that is all that matters.? Even though I will always be a Giants fan, I am now and forever an Amani Toomer fan.? What was really weird was that my sister was actually your insurance agent in Las Vegas.? I didn't believe her at first when she told me because it is kind of weird, but eventually I got it.? Well enough of that.? I really just wanted to let you know that I wish you luck and I appreciate everything you have done for the Giants franchise.Thank you for your time.  MT2 Howard Korten, USN

Amani:  Thank you.  I appreciate your support but even more I appreciate your service to our country.   Thank you for both.

Mr. Toomer, I just want to thank you for all the years of enjoyment you brought me. I am a huge NY Giant fan and Toomer fan. I am NCO in the United States Army who is from New Jersey. Seeing you and the rest of the Giants play has helped me make it through some hard times deployed and at home. I will be watching you in KC and wish you the best. A Toomer Fan, K. H.

Amani:  And I want to thank you for your service to our country.  My “hard times” are nothing compared to yours.

Amani - I was always a big fan from the day you were drafted, and will continue to be until you decide to retire.  Thanks for all of the contributions you made to the NYG over the years, and thanks for carrying yourself with class and dignity throughout.  I'd like to have seen you finish as a NY Giant, but KC will be a good stop...see what Cassel's got.
Thanks from a true fan, and best regards - J D

Amani: Thank you for your continued support.  It means a lot to me.

"That is great, but who are the Chefs?" Remember that commercial? Good to hear that you you got a contract! I don't know how many Chiefs games I will get on TV, but I will follow your stats. I guess more news will unravel. Don't pull a Farve, If they ask about the Giants playbook answer "I don't recall" E

Amani:  I hope you will get to see a few games, other than the one when KC plays the Giants, because it’s good to know I'll still have the support of Giants’ fans.

Thank you for all the great plays & memories. I will miss your the great catches you made. I wish you best with Kansas City. I hope when you retire the Giants will remember all your hard work and dedication. and retire you as a New York Giant. B.

Amani:  Thank you for your continued support and for taking the time to e-mail me.

Hi Amani,  We are soooooooo glad you signed with KC.  This is your friends/fans from
Iowa.  You have made my daughter B. (your biggest fan) so happy.  We will be at the game in KC and please look for us once again as we will more than likely be the only ones wearing Giants game gear and screaming your name out! So be ready for us!!!! Read your old post from B. and
myself. If you ever head north from KC for any reason look us up. Congrats Amani and God Bless.  We new you would do it.  Great talent has a way of finding a fit in the NFL. We are sure glad the Cowboys didn't make you an offer. Good luck my friend. B.H.

Amani: Thanks for the good wishes, B., but I don’t think you and B. will be the only Giants fans at the game. I’ve already been told by a few others that they play to attend so, tell B. to shout loudly again and I’ll listen for her.

Amani,  As a life long Giants fan, since 1960, I am sorry to see you leave.
You have always been a class act and in this day of spoiled stars you never behaved that way.
NY Giants fans will miss you.

Amani:  Thank you, I really appreciate your e-mail..

Amani, I was very sorry to see you leave the Giants.  Thank you so much for the years you gave to the game and the enjoyment you provided me as a fan.  I am a 67 year old grandma and I have been a Giant fan since I was 19 years old.  I have moved from NJ to VA to FL and have always been able to watch every game through local pubs, or in the last 15 years, Directv.  You have been a big part of those years.
Again thank you and good luck with your new team.  I will never forget the players on the 2007 team and the Superbowl.  I watched it all including the parade.  M. K.

Amani:  I’ve always said how great the Giants fans are and you’re a terrific example.

Thanks for the memories, Amani.  You were always a class act.  Wish you great success in
KC. M. R.

Amani: Thank you.  I appreciate your continued support.

Dear Amani,  Just wanted say thanks for your years as a Giant and wish you the best with KC. I have always enjoyed and admired your play on the field. I am sure I speak for many Giant fans when I say I will miss seeing you in NY.  Best Regards, R. S.

Amani: I’ll miss seeing the great Giants fans as well.

Hey Amani!,  Just wanted to drop you a line to wish you the best of luck this year with
KC. B. just told me you've already been down there for a couple days...Hope it is all coming together, hope the team is treating you well! Of course, I still have to wear my Blues, but just know that I will be rooting for you and your team all season long as well!
Thanks for being such a great guy Amani! Its been a pleasure talking with you this season. Please let me know if I can help you out in any other way. Best Regards,  A.  W.

Amani: Good to hear from you, A.  Thanks for your continued support and taking the time to e-mail.

L. & I know D. personally. We were just in St Louis to see E./K./new baby. I'm being vague to protect. Anyway We would love to see KC/Seattle Game Will D. Be there? I will call him and try to get together. Wow! I'm so happy to your in MO. And well its great.

Amani:  We haven’t talked about that game yet but it’s probably a pretty safe bet that he’ll be there.

Amani,  I can't believe you will not be on the Giants roster this year!  8 years ago I married a Giant's fan.his excitement for football and the Giants was contagious!  Then I noticed this awesome receiver who didn't feel the need to act like most wide receivers (obnoxious).  You just played the game with such class!  And you got the job done!  My husband has come to terms with the fact that I liked watching you for more than you skills!  LOL!  Hey it got his wife to sit next to him on the couch and watch football.what's better than that!?  We wish you all the luck!  God Bless, H.

Amani:  Thank you, H.  I’m glad to have been a part of making you a Giants fan.

Hey Amani, Congrats on signing with the Chiefs.  You're a class act and I wish you all the best, except when you play the Giants.  Any thoughts on who my new favorite Giants player should be now that you're gone? B. H.

Amani:  Thank you.  I'm not even going to try to answer your question because I think you should have the fun of deciding on your new favorite.

Best of luck in KC.  You will be missed by Giant fans, remember you will
always be a New Yorker....which is a good thing.  I will be rooting for you.  S.

Amani: You’re right.  I will always be a New Yorker.  I’ve come to love the vitality of the City and, of course, the great N.Y. fans.

Amani, I just heard the news that you have signed with Kansas City. Congratulations! I'm so happy that you are going to be playing with some team this year. I don't understand what happened with the Giants and why they treated you the way they did from last season and through the off-season. Kansas City is getting one heck of a player. While I am a Giants fan for many years, I am an even bigger Toomer fan. I had the pleasure to meet you in Hackensack last year after the Super Bowl win when you signed my DVD, and I said it to you then, and I'll say it again. If I ran any pro football team, I'd have every pass go to you. You'd lead the league in receptions with over 500. You are an asset to any team lucky enough to have you, you are an asset to the sport of football, and you are a true gentleman. Best of luck, and I'm so happy I have a reason to wear my Toomer jersey this year. Please know, even if I can't see any of your games unless you are playing one broadcast in the New Jersey area, I'll be out there screaming "Throw it to Toomer". Congratulations, and go kick some butt. Make the Giants sorry they didn't resign you. S. V.

Amani:

Thank you, S.  I think I can hear you screaming already-and I appreciate it.

Amani  From a HUGE Giant's fan out here in NJ congrats! I will miss you every
time you caught a pass I would yell out " It's not a tumor" ( the Arnold Schwarzenegger line from kindergarten cop ) .. It drove my wife crazy ..Thanks for a lot of great memories .  D.

Amani:  The memories mean a lot to me too and I really appreciate your e-mail.

Hey Amani, Giants fan here. Just want to say good luck with the Chiefs. 13 years, team records, super bowl appearances and a super bowl win, that stuff doesn't get forgotten now just because you are with another team. I hope you light it up and get to 10,000 career yards this year. Continued success and I hope when your career is over you can one day come back to Giants Stadium and be honored by the team for all the wonderful things you have done.  Take care

Amani:  Thanks for taking the time to e-mail me.  I appreciate your continued support.

Amani, You have been my favorite Giant since LT retired and I was very sad to see you let go but I am very excited to see that you have been picked up.  You will be an asset to the Chiefs and I wish you the best of luck.  Take care of yourself.  Good luck this season.  Its sad that I'm not going to see you in blue and white, but seeing you in red and gold on sports center is going to be better than not at all.  M. A.

Amani: I appreciate your continued support, M., especially since we’re playing the Giants this season.

Amani - I don't see dates on the postings, but I have come occasionally to see if there is news of tryouts with other teams.  Being that the Giants are a big part of my life (I am a third-generation fan, second generation season ticket holder, and my son is a huge fan) you also have been a big part of it too, as your success has been instrumental to the Giants for so many years.  I know you can still play in this league, and if you want to, I hope you have the chance.  Keep us informed!!  DFL

Amani:  I appreciate your continued interest in my career, even though I’m no longer with the Giants.  And I’ll try to keep the site updated better with news of workouts.  Thanks for writing, D.

Hi Amani!  I now live in PA ( ugly Eagle country ) & out of the NY loop!  I was just watching ESPN & heard on an interview with  Sinorice Moss that you were no longer on the Team...I was like WHAT?????  I have been frantic trying to see where I missed the announcement & could not find it.

You have been a GREAT receiver to watch as a fan & have been through the great times & the bad times...i.e...Danny Kannell....I wish you luck & hope that you are picked up !  You are such a great receiver & reliable!  Good luck!  J. S.

Amani:  My contract was up following the 2008 season, J.  Since I wasn’t used much at the end of the season, I believed the Giants no longer had an interest in my services so it was a mutual decision to move on.

I appreciate your continued support.

I KNOW YOU HAVE HAD GREAT SUPPORT FROM GIANTS FANS BUT MAN THERE IS
NOTHING LIKE A RAIDER FAN. I HOPE THE RAIDERS PICK YOU UP. YOU ARE A
GREAT PLAYER AND THE GIANTS LOSE WOULD BE TRULY OUR GAIN.HAVE YOU BEEN
CONTACTED BY THE RAIDERS ?  YOU WOULD BE GREATLY SUPPORTED AND LOOK GOOD
IN SOME SILVER AND BLACK. THE NATION WOULD WELCOME YOU WTH OPEN ARMS.
GOOD LUCK IN YOUR FUTURE AND I HOPE WERE EVER YOU LAND GREAT SUCCES JUST
HOPE ITS IN THE BLACK HOLE . GO RAIDERS!!!!!!!! C. M. W.

Amani:  Thanks for taking the time to e-mail, C.  If the Raiders were to contact me, I’d certainly be interested in talking with them.

hi amani, i want to thank you for your services over the years for the big blue.you have been a solid individual and and a class act.i hope you continue your career and i truly hope everything goes well for you and your family. thank you so much for being a great GIANT.if you are ever in las vegas where i have retired recently lets play a round of golf toghther good luck to you . thanks amani thanks sincerly e. k.

Amani:  Thanks for your support, E. but I’m a pretty bad golfer so I doubt you’d enjoy playing with me

Amani, if what you say is true. We can only wish for you the best and thank
you for a wonderful career! Yes we are Giant fans. However, we are also
Amani Toomer fans as well!

I will say this and then close.  Thank you for stopping as you were heading
into the locker room after practice last year against the Vikings to say
hello and waive to B. while leaving the field. She did not stop
bragging about you in school for a very long time.

She still does not understand the NFL and the Business end of the game. She
does however understand as a kid how her Dad  jumped up and down with a
towel in my hand waving it around like a mad man when you made catches and
did your famous dragging of the toes across the white line or made the
defense miss you as you zigzagged down the field.

She does not forget how she called her Grandpa long distance and only rang
his phone once at a time then hang up when the Giants made a good play and
he would ring her back.

You will be missed by all of us, B., will miss you the most.  Think
of how you were back when you were 16 and had a favorite player, or how you
would feel if that player left.  That is how she feels now. We all do.  If
you're ever in the Mid West, you have our email address. Just let us know.
Iowa is known for its hospitality. Just ask Kurt Warner!

GOD BLESS AMANI!  Good luck! Please as a favor. Just don't sign with the
Cowboys! :-) Then I would have do deal with my son (the trader) B. H.

Amani:  Thank you, B.

Your daughter e-mailed me before the Vikings game to say you and she would be at the game.  I told her to give me a shout out and I’d listen for her and stop if possible.  So I enjoyed putting a face to her name too.

And I also appreciate the offer of hospitality.  If I’m in the area, I’ll try to phone you.

Any true Giants fan knows you will be sorely missed. Good Luck!!!! L.T.

Amani:  Thank you.  I appreciate your support.

Amani, if I may. What is your gut telling you? I understand you may not want
to make a comment however I feel compelled to believe the Giants most
certainly will contact you to lead this young bunch of receivers to mentor
and train for our future. What are your thoughts?

Also, my Daughter B. H. along with the rest of my family are
your biggest and longest fans in the state of Iowa, this I can assure you.
I promised B. I would take her to the New Giants Stadium to see you!
Just read back to the Vikings game and before. You will see the pressure she
is putting on me to see YOU IN THE NEW GIANTS STADIUM! Please help this
Father out!!!!

Amani, Good Luck and God Bless!    B's Dad, B.

Amani:   Hi, B.  I remember you and your daughter from earlier e-mails and I wish I could help you out.  However, I believe the Giants are going in a different direction with the receivers they currently have.  So, I don't expect to wear a Giants' uniform again.

Perhaps you will be back with the Giants, but if not I wanted to thank you for the great moments you gave the fans and for your years of working to become the great giant receiver that you are.
Best of luck, stay well.  SSL, MD

Amani:  Thank you, doctor.  Your support is very much appreciated.

Dear Amani, I am most disappointed that you were not retained by the Giants for the upcoming season. You were always my favorite receiver someone who could always be counted on in clutch situations.
Mr. Clutch was my nick name for you over the many years that you were a Giant.  I'm sure that a team will recognize your talent , hard work and dedication to your craft and welcome you as a fine addition to that team.  Best wishes, and thank you for all the memories!  R.

Amani:  Thanks both for taking the time to e-mail me and for your support over the years.

Amani,  FYI you were instrumental in the superbowl victory and are a true blue Giant. The Giants have always had peculiar ways of treating their best players poorly, especially after a superbowl. Just ask Ottis Anderson. You are an amazing reciever and I watched you back a Michigan. You will be fine and I will pray for you.  Blessings G.

Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail, G.  The on-going support of fans like you is very much appreciated.

im suprised that you were released and thats been said many times by giants fans im sure.? Im a fan of the way you play the game, you arent the typical all about myself wide reciever and i want you to know that fans recognize that.? The way you carry yourself on the football field is admirable and although youve done many great things on the field, giant fans will never forget you as a person. I wish you a great rest of your career and ill continue to be a fan no matter where you wind up... as long as its not philly!

Amani:   Thank you. I really appreciate your support.

Hi Amani.  I am so horrified that you are no longer a NY GIANT!  Poor judgement on management's part.  I loved watching you do your magic on the field, and you were always a gentleman, not a jerk like so many receivers. You were always the star in my eyes, not Burress.  I am sorry you got the shaft.  I'll miss seeing you, as the GIANTS will sorely miss your presence. A.C

Amani:  Thank you for writing.  I really appreciate your support.

As an older Giant fan I just want to say it was a pleasure to root for and scream the name of Amani Toomer! Always a class act and always making the big catch I wish him Good Luck in the next chapter of his life!  T

Amani:  Thank you for your support as well as your e-mail.

AMANI  THANK YOU FOR YOU BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS AND SUPER BOWL WHICH NOOOOOOOOOOOOO WAY WE COULD HAVE DONE WITHOUT YOU! LIFELONG GIANTS FAN
PS  IT WILL SUCK TO SEE YOU ON ANOTHER TEAM  SINCERELY, I.G. DIEHARD (BLEEDS BLUE)

Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail, I.  I really appreciate your support.

Amani,  How is everything going? How are you adjusting to being a free agent?  Do you work out like you normally would at this time of year? Are you  in a waiting game? What is your outlook on the situation? Are you waiting on invites to camps, or is it normal for someone to be a free agent up to the start of the regular season? I keep my fingers crosses that get picked up and get to play this season. E.

Amani:  Thanks for your support. Yes, I work out exactly as I normally would this time of year and it isn’t unusual for free agents to get picked up after training camps begin.

Thanks for your contribution and efforts. You may be one of the most underrated players in League history  D. P.

Amani: Thank you.  I appreciate your e-mail as well as your support.

Amani  We would love to have you in Chicago!! You would be a perfect fit! Get your butt, anyway you or your agent can, into a Bear uniform!!!
Don't shuffle to Buffalo BUT do the Super Bowl Shuffle to Chicago!
Thanks for the great memories and exceptional play over the years in NY! Best wishes and good luck!  J.C.

Amani:  Thanks for the vote of confidence but I think we’ll both have to wait and see what happens.

I will preface this by saying that I think Jerry Reese is one of the best GM’s in the game today, and the Giants current roster is one of the deepest, best collection of talent that I’ve seen in years.
However, in light of the “potential” aka a lot of unproven talent up and down the WR depth chart. He absolutely needs to bring you back!
You are the one constant amongst the offensive playmakers who is always there in the clutch. I’ve watched you make great plays DOWN FIELD (speed?) C’MON! The 2008 Redskin, and Steeler games come immediately to mind (to name a few). With your ability to be there in the clutch, block, and mentor the kids…this is a NO BRAINER!

Would you come back if offered?
I have been a fan since 1970, and have watched SO MANY players come and go. You are without question, the BEST WR in franchise history….and I’m not JUST talking stats! Your leadership, your ability to make HUGE plays at critical times, your willingness to make that key block downfield….Amani, you’re the best, and you deserve to go out with dignity as a New York Giant.
Come back!  Best, -AC

Amani:  I appreciate your e-mail and support, A. but I think the Giants and I have mutually decided to move on.

Hey man,  Real Giant fans want you back....its disgusting the way it went down. You'll always be 81! True Blue!!!   From J. and V. C.

Amani:  Thank you.  It’s very good to know that I still have the fans support.

As a big Amani Toomer fan I just wanted to know if he is going to be a Giant this year?   A.T.

Amani:  No, I don’t expect to be a Giant this year.

Amani,  A lifelong Giants fan, a football player and coach. I know football and appreciate disciplined, intelligent, professional football players. I have to say that I am extremely bummed to see you leave the Giants. The good thing is, Giants fans got to enjoy seeing you make the most sensational, clutch catches in Giants history. You know how much you put into your career and the organization and I am here to tell you I noticed every bit of it.
Amani Toomer was responsible for more unbelievable clutch, catches that kept G-Men drives alive than any other Giant in history. NOBODY in the NFL could tap those two toes on the sideline better than you. I can't count how many times I dropped my jaw and put my fists through the ceiling while Toomer was making big time plays.
For 10 years, I coached my high school football receivers to play like you, always starting off the season by showing a picture of you stiff-arming a Jaguar and another laying out with your toes dragging before the line.
I could go on and on. Thank you especially for your unbelievable playoff performances that led to our Super Bowl 42 Championship. That was the best most memorable championship in my books as a NY sports fan..Sincerely,  T. S.

Amani:  Thank you for taking the time to write, T.  Your e-mail means a lot to me.

Amani,  I'm sorry to hear you are no longer a Giant.  You've been my favorite player on my favorite team for some time.  I remember watching you return a punt for a TD in the Silver Dome your rookie season.  Congratulations on your many accomplishments and especially your receiving record with the Giants.  I'm sure you'll get a contract with another team and I'll be rooting for you.
Best wishes, Your fan, B. R.

Amani: Thank you.  The opinion of fans has always been very important to me.

Amani,   I'm sorry to see you not playing with the Giants - you were their first receiver, really, since I started watching them in the late 60s.
Which makes me wonder whether you might not be interested in hooking on with a quarterback who I think was the best passer the Giants have had at least  since Phil Simms, if not Tarkenton -- Kerry Collins. You and he worked together well, and the Titans have a need at receiver.
Anyways, I still miss Collins -- thought he still had plenty he could  do for the Jints (not dissing Eli, at all, here), and I, like other Giant  fans, are going to miss you, too. Would love to see you and Collins wreaking havoc in the other conference --Good luck  J. F.

Amani: I really enjoyed playing with Kerry but whether we’ll ever play together again unfortunately isn’t up to me.

Its a shame that we won't see #81 in blue on game day anymore. You would've been perfect to mentor all those young WR's the Giants have now...especially with that sweet sideline tip toe catch that you got down to a science!!!!

Anyways, we did ya wrong in my opinion. Hope you don't hold it against us Giants fans and go play for the Iggles, Cowgirls or Deadskins lol. Either way, I'm sure I speak for all Giants fans when I wish you good luck in whatever you end up doing and we look forward to seeing you play for a few more years and hopefully retiring as a Giant.  Good luck!!!  P. S

Amani:  Thank you for your e-mail.  I appreciate your support.

Hey Amani:  I just wanted to check in with you.  I hope your options are developing out
there.  It's going to be tough to see you in another uniform, but I'm
looking forward to seeing where you end up.

It won't be the same without you on the Giants and I'm sure I represent a hoard of fans that have nothing but gratitude for all you have done for the franchise and respect for how you conduct yourself.  Your fans aren't going away!  Peace, M

Amani:  I very much appreciate your continued support, M.  Thanks for writing.

Hi Amani, the Broncokilla jajaja... i'm J., the Giants Fan #1 in Mexico... Ive been watching all the games since 1988 and obviously all your games, unforgetable when you caught the pass beating the undefeated Broncos in 97, and the winning TD in 2005, the record catch versus the Niners, the Super Bowl caught in the sideline... always with style and with no troubles and issues ... I bought my 81 jersey last year and im so sad that you wont be with the team in 09. I hope some day visit the new stadium in 2010 even without the best Giants receiver of all time... Im so sad of this situation and i hope some day see your jersey besides 92, being retired like you deserve.Keep Tooming! and thanks for the memories!  J. B.

Amani:  I’m glad to hear you’re watching the NFL games, J. and I hope you do get to visit Giants Stadium next year.  Thanks for your e-mail; I appreciate your support.

I just found out today that you are no longer going to be a Giant.!!  I can't believe this is how it ends!  This is crazy!!  I hate when these organizations do this kind of stuff   My blood is blue thru and thru but this is wrong!!!   You are the epitome of a gracious pro athlete  You were a Giant soldier, you clearly showed you still have fire and  ability and for them to the cast you off like that is a damn shame  You'll be a great asset to any team that is lucky enough to grab you   I wish you all the best Amani!!!  RB

Amani:  Thanks for your support and for taking the time to e-mail me.

Amani,  I have been a huge fan of yours since your playing days at Michigan.? I was so elated when the Giants drafted you. Having one of my favorite players of all time from Michigan on my favorite pro team was an amazing feeling.? You have been my favorite Giant since that day. You are probably my favorite Giant of all time as well.? I really wish you would be playing for the Giants for the remainder of your career (which you diserve) and it pains me deeply knowing this will most likely not happen.? I don't understand why they wouldn't do whatever it takes to get you back. I think you could still be a very good #2 receiver and now with Plax gone we have no vetrans at the receiver position and not a?lot of skill.? We also have a young group who could continue to learn a lot from you. You will always be a Giant in my eyes. I want to thank you for all of the great memories on and off the field. You gave me a lot of them. What is the latest status on your career? If you do go on to play somewhere else, I would hope the day you decide to end your career you will get the opportunity to sign onto the Giants so you can retire as a Giant. Don't know if you put any thought into that but I really want to see it happen. All the best. IJL

Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail.  I appreciate your support but haven’t really thought much about retirement yet.

I can't believe this is really happening!  Where are you going to play next?  My heart is broken!  Please stay with the Giants. I will still be you biggest supporter where ever you go. God Bless you! B.H.  from Iowa.

Amani:  It’s good to hear from you, B. and I really appreciate your support.

Just wondering if your still on the team? Your not on the roster and I cant find anything that says you've been traded or cut.
Thanks,T.

Amani: No, I’m no longer with the Giants.   My contract was up at the end of last year and the Giants and I mutually decided to part ways.

Amani,  I would personally like to thank you for everything you have done for the Giants' fans during your career. I will admit I have criticized you at times and have always gotten nervous everytime I saw you cath with your body and not your hands, but I knew it was just you and thats how you played. You have come through so much for us when we truely needed it and have done
things no many people know about. You have given me fantastic memories at Giants Stadium whether it be your game-winning catch against the Broncoes that handed them their first lost of the season, or (again another Broncoes game) the snatch you had in the endzone at th eend of the game that put us ahead of the Broncoes after a tremendous comeback. But I gotta say, my
favorite memory of you is not any of those two catches, or the dazzleing sideling tippytoe catches that you are so great at. It is the play you had against the Packers at home in the 2007 season. Yeah the game didn;t go to well, but I rember this one play where you caught the ball, ran up to one of their defenders and stiff armed him right in the face. And then you got up all fired up and excited. I never saw you do that before. It surprised the hell out of me. i said to my father: "Holy hell, the old man has some fight to him still". Then I got smacked over the head for callign you an old man  which I apologize for.

Anyway the reason I'm writing this is because i want you to know that even though the Giants are treating you like dirt right now we all still love you. Not a day goes by where I here my father ask me if we signed Amani back yet. We all want you back Toom. You're our GOAT our Greatest Of All Time.  You're the guy we can count on if we are in a tight spot. We don't care abotu the stats or Pro Bowls or any of that junk. We love you buddy. No Giant fan can bear to see you in another uniform next year. It'll break our hearts to see you leave for good, We want to see you rend your career here in New York, but not until you're... 55 years-old. I know it's not under your control and I knwo this league is a business (unfortunately) but please try your very best to come back to the Meadowlands until you're done playing ball. We want you to be a New York Giant for life Amani. I hope to see you in that blue jersey with the captain stich at Giants Stadium on opening day
against the Redskins this year. Regardless of what happens, have a great life and good luck to you in whatever you do. You're a fantastic player and a great role model.  Sincerley,  N. S.

Amani:   Thanks for your support, N.  You reminded me of plays and good experiences that I hadn’t thought about in a long time.

Hi Amani!  I just wanted to tell you that I've been a Giants fan since I knew what a football was - and that's going back about 35 years.  I've followed the Giants with my father since I was a kid and have season tickets with him now.  I proudly wear my #81 jersey to each and every game and have thought you were the best and most reliable Giants since you started with the team.  My husband attended University of Michigan when you played there, and so he has followed your career with the Giants along with me.  I am so sorry to see the mistake the Giants are making by not doing everything they can to resign you.  You are such a valuable asset and will be sorely missed by all the Giants fans.  We will no longer have that one receiver we could always rely on to catch the ball in clutch situations.  I wish you all the best in whatever you do.  I always hoped you would retire a Giant, but I will continue to watch you and root for you wherever you go to play.  And I will continue to proudly wear my #81 jersey to Giants Stadium next season!!  Take care! - L.Y.

Amani:  Thank you.  I really appreciated your e-mail just as I’ve appreciated the support of great Giants’ fans like you over the years.

Amani, Long time Giants fan here. I can't believe the Giants releasedyou. I have watched every game for the past 25 year. You are the best wide out they have ever had. You made some awesome catches last year (The catch on the side line -vs. - the Bengal's for instance was a
must).I wish you the best, Go to Tampa Bay the weather is great in Florida. Good luck and God bless you for helping out the Giants for so  many years.  Sincerely, N. B.

Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail.  I really appreciate the support but the Giants didn’t release me, N.  My contract was up and we mutually decided to move on.

New York loves you. Have you thought about contacting Rex Ryan and the Jets? That is a match made in heaven. They desperately need a really good wide reciever. You could play another 10 years!! And New York loves you.  R.H.

Amani:  Thanks for your support, R.  I’m not sure if my agent has been in contact with the Jets but will check.

Mr. Toomer,  I have just this moment became aware that you are unlikely to be with the Giants again this year.  While I'd like to be more eloquent, the first thought that comes to mind is, "that's a damn shame!"
I have successfully used you as a positive role model for my son, who will be entering his senior year in the fall as his high school team's Captain.  He's starting middle linebacker and full back, and more importantly, an honor student and a fine young man.  His first game at the Meadowlands was your rookie year, and you've been one of "his guys" ever since.
He's been raised to respect the game and people who do.  At the height of all the turmoil caused by so many wide receivers over the last few years, he blurted out in a certain amount of anger, "why can't they all be more like Amani?"  It was one of those moments that makes a father so proud.
So when I say I want to thank you for all those great years with the Giants, I'm talking about a great deal more than football.Thank you, Sir.  Thank you.  J. D. G.

Amani:  No, Sir, I think it is I who should thank you.  And I do.

thanks for all the years amani. loved watching you play and always was a u of m fan too so i always rooted for you.  thanks and best.  A.

Amani: Thank you.  I loved playing for the Giants fans.

Dear 81, My name is E. C.. I have been a giants fan since I can remember. I am 33 now and I still bleed blue! I just wanted to send you a little message to thank you for all the years you played you heart out for BIG BLUE! I will miss seeing you out there playing and giving 200%! I have always admired how you played and acted out there. You never talked smack you always did it with your game. More guys should be like you.  Well Toom, Thanks again for the many and great years. I wish you the best!!!

PS. Thanks for the 2 TD's against the Cowboys in the playoffs 2 years ago. I
loved it!!!!!

Amani:  Thanks for your support, E.  I kind of liked that playoff game against the Cowboys myself.

Hey Amani, I would like to say that you are a great example of a quality football player that I 've watched play for years and admired you abilities to make key plays.  I would very much like to see you retire as a Giant.  I understand that football is a business and management need to address it's needs accordingly but, When the game is on and Eli needs Mr. Reliable to bail him out (which I've seen you do so many times) I fear you won't be in the big blue uniform.  You have a great number of fans here in the state of Maine that will be watching for you on Sundays hopefully in a blue uniform and/or any other uniform!  best wishes, S.

Amani:  Thank you for your good wishes, S.  Your e-mail is appreciated.

this is for mr. toomer,  i'm sorry you were released from the n.y. giants.  i have been a giants fan since birth (i'm the same age as mr toomer himself), and i am super bummed. i remember when he started playing with the giants.  he has always been my favorite giant, alongside phil simms and michael strahan.  right now i am mad at the giants for releasing you, mr toomer.  whatever team you end up on, i'll root for you, even though i am suppose to be a giants fan.  you're still the best player after all these years.   i'm sure all giants fans will miss you.  best of luck,  d.c.

Amani:  I wasn’t actually released, D.  My contract was up and the Giants and I mutually decided to part ways.

I can't believe that there hasn't been more news about this situation.  You're the best receiver the team ever had.  How many games did you save with clutch catches under difficult circumstances with TERRIBLE passes?  I'm depressed.  It's just like what happened with Hilliard and the others.  Every time the Giants have a great season or two, people start going elsewhere for whatever reason.  I'll never forget your contributions all of these years and I know you'll be a great
success no matter where you play.  You haven't lost a step brother!  R. M. F.

Amani:  Thanks both for your vote of confidence and for taking the time to e-mail me.

I've been a Giants fan since my freshman at UNH. I've seen the best and the worst of the
Giants in those years.  I idolized Kyle Rote as a kid and became a Giants fan because of him.
But Amani Toomer became my favorite Giant and I am sorry to see you go.Thank you for always bringing your "A" game to the field. You have given Giants fans many thrills.Best of luck in your future endeavors. F. J A.

Amani:   Thanks for your e-mail, F.  It’s nice to be up there with Kyle Rote in your estimation.

Hi Amani:I just want to tell you I have been a Giants fan longer that you have been alive(early 1960's).
I have been a fan of yours since you joined the Giants. You have been an exemplar player, after a brief benching because of an infraction that I don't even remember what it was about. You have been a key player for years. I just can't even think about you being in another uniform. When I think of it, I feel an overwhelming loss. Like a member of my family left home. I just hope you can  work things out with the Giants  If you do have to go elsewhere, I wish you well and will miss you very  much. God bless you and thanks for all you have given to the Giants. A Giants Fan.  D

Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail, D.  I appreciate your support and I’ll miss the great Giants’ fans too.

Hey Amani, when you are driving your 911 Turbo and see a Red GT3 blow by you, that will be me!!  Keep your eyes open!!  Great fun this week (until I hit the guard rail!)  Drive safe.  T. W.

Amani:   You didn’t say but I hope you weren’t hurt when you hit the guard rail.  I’ll look for you but please drive safely.

Hey Amani- You're the greatest receiver we've ever had.  Please change your mind
and play for the Giants this year.  WE NEED YOU MAN!!!  H. F.

Amani:  Thank you, H.  I really appreciate your support but the decision isn’t entirely up to me.

Hi Amani: I just want to let you know that I am a huge fan of yours, and I am really unhappy with how you have been treated by the Giants' front office.  I wanted to write a note because it's important at times like this to know that the fans love you.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Giants wouldn't have won the Super Bowl in 2008 if it weren't for your amazing play throughout the season.  My favorite thing about the way you play is that you are always aware of exactly where you are on the field and where your feet need to be.  You
don't just catch the ball, you get first downs or you get out of bounds -whatever is needed to make the play.

If there is any doubt how big a fan I am, see the attached photo.  I got married in April 2008, and I told my dad that if you guys won the Super Bowl I would wear my jersey at the reception.  Actually, I think it was more like "God, if you help the Giants win the Super Bowl I will ..etc" and my dad was
there to witness it.  Anyway, you won and I wore my jersey, and of course I it was #81!

Thanks for being a great player and I promise that I will root for whichever team you go to, unless you go to Dallas.  I even turned my back on the Tuna after that.  Sorry.  But anyone else and I am there!  Be well!   J.C.

Amani:  You’ve convinced me that you’re a great fan, J. and I really appreciate the pics and your e-mail.

Whether you play for the Giants again or not, I want to thank you for many years of outstanding play, and for always being a classy guy on and off the field.  Football needs more players like you.  E. A. W., Esq.

Amani:  Thanks for writing, E.  I appreciate your support.

I would just like to take time and give thanks to one the greatest Giants of them all and without question the best receiver in team's history. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was watching the draft and hoping that we would take that talented receiver from Michigan that I watched make plays so many Saturday afternoons. The first few years, I remember you taking punts back to the house, looking a little funny in Mark Bavaro's old #. Things did not seem easy for you in the beginning, which made you later success so much more enjoyable to watch. It seems as if you always had the talent, but you really made yourself into a great receiver. I remember years later when I realized that Amani Toomer has really become an elite receiver and this is something that the Giants had not had in my lifetime. As the years went by, and you selflessly gave way to Plaxico and became such a tremendous possession receiver and security blanket for Eli, you once again
proved what a great player and Giant you were. To see you come up with big play after big play in the miraculous playoff run and then see you finally get that championship, there was not another player more deserving or who I felt better for than you. Football is a tough business and all us Giants fans realize that you might not play another down in a Giants uniform, but we all know that if you don't, you will always be one of the true Giants. Thank you for all the great times you have given us fans and I think I speak for all of us in wishing you the best in the rest of your professional career and your life off the field.  L. K.

Amani:  Thank you for your support over the years, L.  It really is appreciated.

Amani,  1st, as a fan I too want to express my gratitude to you for all of your hard work and production with the Giants. You have been one of the most selfless players, and a true role model. My sons and I have our fingers crossed you and The Giants can work something out so you can ride out your career in NY.

I have heard over the years that you study Kung Fu. I simply wanted to alert you to our school in Chinatown called ----- Kung Fu. Under the direction of Sifu P. K., the school offers a wide range of empty hand forms, weapons, Thai Chi and Chi Gung classes, 7 days per week, mornings and evenings.

If you are unaffiliated with a Sifu at the present time, please join us for a trial class. It would be an honor to train with you.  Best of Luck, D. MD.

Amani:  Thanks both for your support and the invitation.

Hey Amani,  I just wanted to thank you for all the great memories and catches you had for and with the New York Giants. Even your Punt Returns for touchdowns.
I followed you when you had your first start against the Dallas Cowboys and struggled a little bit to your rise to your super stardom and one of the best run after catches I have ever seen against the Cowboys last year in the playoffs on the road to your Super Bowl run victory.
It was a great time enjoying you play. I wish you the best Amani.  Regards, N. A-S.

Amani:  I’ve always believed that Giants fans are the best but it’s really humbling to receive so many e-mails.  It really has been my pleasure to play for the Giants and their great fans all these years.

Mr. Toomer,  I just wanted to thank you for representing the Giants organization with the utmost class and professional demeanor.  You truly are one of the guys that makes me so proud to root for the Giants.  I wish you the best  of luck to whatever organization is lucky enough to have you don their colors.  You have provided us fans with many memories to cherish, and I am truly happy to see you leave with a championship ring.  Highest Regards, D. H.

Amani:  Thank you.  Winning the Super Bowl with the Giants is a memory that I’ll always treasure.

Mr. Toomer,  My name is A. S., a lifelong Giants fan, as is every member of my family.  I just wanted to say thank you.  Its been pleasure watching you over the past 13 years.  You've always done things with class and integrity.  You've also provided many great moments and memories.  I still have the photo from the front page of the times the day after the catch against Denver in '98.  I'll miss those masterful side line catches.  I wish you all the best in the future. Thanks again, A.

Amani: You’re going way back with that Denver game.  Thank you for supporting me over the years.

Thank you for all the years of great play and more importantly being a stand up guy and representing the New York Giants.  Good luck with all the rest life has to offer you  K. A.., Giants fan since '80

Amani:  Thank you for your good wishes and for taking the time to e-mail me.

We were lucky to have you as a Giant, because you are a Giant amongst athletes. I met you once and I admired how genuine and nice you are. There are far too few like you in the world of pro athletes.

I think the NY Giants organization should retire your number, because you'll always be the greatest #81 we ever had the pleasure to support.

Please take care of yourself, and continue to play with class and dignity.

I'd also love to see you return as a coach someday!

Cheers! j. w.

Amani: Thanks for your support.  As far as coaching goes, I haven’t looked that far down the road yet as I still hope to play for a couple more years

Amani,   Thank you and congrats on a fabulous career in NY!  I've enjoyed watching you over the years and you were obviously an intergral part in the Superbowl run and victory.  I wish you were coming back but I know you'll be successful wherever you play.  McH. J.

Amani:  Thank you.  I really appreciate your e-mail.

Hey Amani,  I'm a diehard Giants and Michigan fan and I just want to say thank you for all that you have done with each organization.  It has been a tremendous joy being able to root for you with both football teams that I love dearly.  I still can remember how excited I was when you were drafted by the Giants.  You are a true Giant and always will be.  You'd always make the catches when we needed it, and you always put team first.

I hope you continue to play (just don't sign with any team in the NFC East PLEASE!!!!!!!) and I will always root for you no matter where you end up.  Good luck with free agency, and I wish you all the best.

Thanks again Amani, you are one of my favorite football players of all time, and I hope you continue to have a productive and healthy career. Go Blue x 2!!!  G. B.

Amani: It’s always great to hear from a Wolverine fan.  Thanks for your support

Dear Mr Toomer,  I've been a NY Giants fan since 1963. I just want to express my gratitude to you for your service to NY Giants and their fans. You are the best receiver the Giants have had, and you are a true professional. I wish you success in the future in and out of football.Thank you,

J. Mc G.

Amani:  Thank you for your support and for taking the time to write me.

I just wanted to say "thank you" for your years of dedicated service and hard work for the Giants.  My family has had season tickets for over 30 years and we are among the most dedicated Giants fans there are.  We have followed your professional career closely from the very beginning and you
have always proven to be a consummate professional, an extremely talented athlete, and a fantastic teammate.  You are the KING of the sideline toe-tapper and every receiver who comes into this league in the future can only hope to emulate your sideline prowess.  Thank you from the very bottom of our hearts and best of luck in all of your future professional endeavors.Very truly yours,  M. J. and the J. family

Amani:  And I thank you and your family for your support over the years.

This is more obscure than what you're used to, but the two years you played with Dave Brown, did he get any respect or support from his own guys in the locker room? It always seemed to me, especially in his last couple of seasons with the Giants, that he wasn't very well liked by his own teammates. You don't have to name names obviously, but I was always wondering. I'll give him this though, he played his ass off every week for us, took a beating on regular basis and kept on getting up for more.
Thanks Amani for being one of, if not the classiest Giant in my lifetime and the master of the tip-toe sideline catch.  We're gonna miss you out there!  J.

Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail.

I don’t feel comfortable trying to talk about what other players may have thought but I can say Dave was a good teammate to me.

Dear Amani- Came upon your website, and thought I would take the time to express my
thanks to you for 13 outstanding seasons with the Giants.  I'm sad to read the words that you may not be with the Giants next season, but I'm still holding out hope.  However, please understand that this fan understands that you need to do what's right for you!  I just feel fortunate to have watched you play for Big Blue for so long.

A long-time Giants fan,  I am most grateful for the consistency and hard work ethic you've personified during those seasons.  Toe taps in the freezing cold, a scooping catch against the Bears, sprinting down the sidelines past Roy Williams and being carried off the Linc Field are
burned in my brain.  Seemed like most of your plays were just clutch..CLUTCH!!!  Have to admit that I was fist pumping watching you dust off your jersey after a tough first down catch vs. the Skins this past season.  You carried the team at times, and that ain't easy.  Not only did you do it consistently, but with style, grace,  personality and character.

My uncle was a cameraman for 30 years w/ Monday Night Football @ ABC, and met your father one time in the back tunnels of an NFL venue.  He couldn't say enough nice things about him.  Makes it more obvious to me (and my entire family of Giants fans) how a strong, supportive
background can lead to great achievements.  I'll cheer for you no matter what jersey you're wearing... well, except if it's got a star, eagle or indian head on it!!!!!!

Thanks for everything, and I hope you're back in blue!  If you make it through D. in the next few years, my young son M.and I will be out there cheering you on!  Thanks. P.V.D.

Amani:  If I do make it out your way, I’ll be listening for you and M.  Thanks for your e-mail.

Mr. Toomer As a long time fan of the New York Giants, I wanted to take this time to thank you for some great memories that go with many great plays you have made for the Giants.  No doubt, I share the same feelings of many fans who do not want to see you leave the Giants.  You know better than any of us the business side of the game, but I t hope that the Giant organization will in some meaningful way recognize your many great contributions to the team. I had the opportunity to go to Superbowl 42, and the fact that you and Michael Strahan earned your rings that day made the celebration much more meaningful for this fan. I hope that you have the opportunityto finish your career in a way that does not diminish anything you have already accomplished.  I am disappointed that the Giants have not seemed to make any kind of offer to you at this point.  I know it is a business, but you are a great all-time Giant, and I believe your contributions to the team over these years merits some kind of special consideration.  I wish you the best of luck for the upcoming season.  I look forward to the day in the new stadium when the Giant organization does the right thing and celebrates your career as a Giant. Thanks for the memories,  Sincerely, T. T.

Amani:  I don’t know if what you’re hoping will ever happen but really I'm grateful to the organization for giving me the opportunity to play for the Giants all these years in front of all their great fans.

Dear Amani,  I just wanted to say Thank You and that it has been my pleasure to watch you
play for the Giants.  I still hope that they come to their senses and re-sign you.

The sideline catches that you have made over the last several seasons, and the complete body control that goes along with it have been nothing short of spectacular.

Although you have had many memorable Giants moments, some of the most recent really stand out to me:

You yelling "He can be had!!!" as you left the field after the Bucs game. (Thanks for the extra motivation, Rhonde)

Your performance the week after in Dallas, especially the effort to get across the goal line on the second TD.  (The first TD wasn't tooshabby either :-))

Your parts in the SB Resiliency "promo"  (I still get shivers when I watch that)

I wish you only the best in everything life has. Still hope to see you in Giant's Blue! Sincerely, G.D’A.

Amani:  You bring back a lot of good memories and I really do appreciate your support over the years.

Mr. Toomer:  I am almost 50, and I have NEVER written a "fan letter" before.  In your case, I make an exception.  I write as an appreciative fan who has enjoyed watching your consistently outstanding play over the course of your Giant career.

It is regrettable indeed that you may not be back with the team next year, and I believe your teammates - and your fans - will miss you greatly.  Thank you for your clockwork excellence, and for the often over-looked but nontheless textbook sideline catches that were - at least to me - your
trademark.  You have helped make a great many memories.

May God bless you in your future endeavors.  If you are ever in Sayreville, NJ, I would love to have a cup of coffee with you. Best regards.T. G.

Amani: If I am ever in your neighborhood, I’ll take you up on that coffee.  Thanks for writing.

Dear Amani  As a lifelong N.Y. Giant fan, I just wanted to take the time to thank you for all of your years playing here in New York. I was thrilled to see you and Michael Strahan finally get your Superbowl rings after al these years. No two players deserved them more than each of you. I hope that the organization eventually sees fit to honor you for all of your team records as a N.Y. Giant. I smile when I think of every "drag your toes in bounds" sideline catch you've made. If you desire to do so sometime in the future, the Giants should give you the opportunity to be their receivers coach; not only to teach young players how to be better, but to show them how to carry themselves as the class act you have always been. I wish you were coming back and remaining a Giant.

Good luck in your future endeavors and thank for the memories!  B.C.

Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail; it’s really appreciated.

As far as coaching goes, I guess I haven’t thought that much ahead.

Hey Amani,  Don’t  know f you read this or not. But currently I am out operating away from the states. I just hope you have many successful years ahead

of you and good luck and health. You are a true Giant. Many times you
have brought me to be happy, and your acrobatic catches can't be
replaced. Thanks for being a great team player. You were easily one of
my favorite Giants.Very Respectfully, J.R.From a Military Man

Amani:  I appreciate your support but think I should be the one to thank you for your service to our country.

Thanks for all the great memories and for being a great inspiration for the young kids.  No matter what uniform you might wear, I'll always remember you as one of my favorite Giants.  Thanks again and good luck.  DW

Amani: And I thank you for your support over the years.  It means a lot to me.

Hey Amani!  Just wanted to say thanks for playing your heart out for the Giants for so many years. I'm sorry it looks like you and the Giants might be parting ways, but you'll always be remembered as one of the all time greats on an all time great franchise. You should be very very proud.  Btw, I hope you don't mind, for years I've been calling you Amani "don't have a" Toomer with an Arnold Schwarzenegger accent ("I don't have a tumor!" from the flick "Kindergarten Cop" I believe). Good luck with your future.  Love you man.  Take care Amani.  D.

Amani: Thank you for supporting me over the years.

And, of course, I don't mind your calling me Amani.

Amani, I just want to thank you for your contribution to the Giants throughout your great
career.  I believe you got even better the last few years and it is clear the Giants
never would have won the Super Bowl in '07 without you.   You're circus catches in '06
and '07 were amazing...some of the best I've ever seen...just incredible sideline and
end-zone/end-line catches.

Your being carried off the field at the end of a game after repeatedly being forced to
leave the game with cramps, cramps that returned after virtually every play...every catch
was such a demonstration of character.  The respect I gained for you after that selfless
display of courage and desire is unmeasurable.

Loved your laughing reaction running up the hallway to the locker room in Dallas after
the playoff game in '07.  That joy was shared.

The Super Bowl victory in '07 was amazing and I was happiest that you and Mike would get your rings.

I hope you finish your career with the Giants but I wish you the best in any case.  If
you go elsewhere, please go easy on us.  LOL!  M. G

Amani;  Thanks for your support and for taking the time to e-mail me.

Wherever I finish my career, Giants fans will always be special to me.

AmaniI just wanted to write you and thank you for the positive impact you have made on my life.  I am 23 year old and you were part of the first group of "core" players I grew up watching as a giants fan.  Along with Tiki and Strahan, the three of you were the faces of the franchise.

While I was a fan of all three of you, it was you who got the least notoriety yet you were the only one who taught me what it meant to be an athlete and a member of a team.  While Tiki and Strahan fought through the media over the size of Michaels contract, you showed up year after year and kept your mouth shut and performed consistantly.  As an athlete myself(i just finished my fourth year of divison 2 basketball) I tried to model myself after guys like you.

You are and always will be an all-time giant and all-time class act.  The quarterback(Eli) and pass rush will always get the hype, but it was you who was the difference maker in the memorable superbowl run.  The extra effort on your fifty yard td catch on the opening drive against dallas, getting the toes down on the sideline against greenbay, and your calming veteran leadership in the superbowl were the difference for the giants.  Everyone will remember Eli to Tyree but you were the one who lead the team in receiving.

Unfortunately the ugly side of sports has reared its head and it looks like you wont be suiting up for the giants in 2009(although I hold out hope that something will get done).  I wish you success wherever you go(unless its in the nfc east, DONT DO THAT)  You are my favorite player to ever wear the uniform.  In an era of sports where most athletes are ME first, you put the team first.  You are a great role model for young athletes.

Thanks Amani, and good luck in your future both on and off the field. M. S.

Amani: Thank you.  I really appreciate your e-mail and for your support over the years..

Hey Amani,  Thanks for the years of hard work and great play you put in with the Giants.
You epitomized the type of class and dignity that I hope to see in all players. And, without a doubt, you were one of the most productive players for whom I've ever rooted. It's unfortunate that you won't be wearing the Giants uniform next year, but I'll be rooting for you to do well wherever
you end up  Thanks again and good luck.  M.

Amani:  Thank you.  The support of fans means a great deal to me and no team has better fans than the Giants.

Thanks for all the great catches over the years.

The catch in Green Bay, in the NFC Championship game, was one of the best (and clutch) catches in Giants history.

I would love to see you retire in Blue, but wish you the best wherever you land.

I was very happy that you finally got yourself a ring. You certainly deserved it!

Maybe I'll see you around out here, back on the West Coast.  Best regards, G.

Amani:  Maybe you will see me back on the West Coast but at this point I don’t know where I’ll end up.  Thanks for taking the time to write.

Amani THANKS for your exellent performance with the Giants.I still feel you are the best guy they could have.Good luck to you and yours and may God continue to bless you and yours. G. C.

Amani:  Thank you for your support.

Amani:  I really do not know if it is you that will receive this, but I wanted to say first and foremost, THANK YOU.  Thank you for all of the effort and true grit that you played with on every down.  I know football is a business and you'll have to do what is best for you, but I wish you were to remain a NY Giant.  I never saw any other receiver, or player leave it all on the field like yourself.  You make me and my wife proud when we watch you play, you define the meaning of "go to receiver "and are seemingly the epitome of a great teammate.  Whatever you decide, I wish you all the luck in the world to stay healthy and have fun.

Good luck, you deserve the best life has to offer.  M. and O. L.

Amani:  Thank you.  Your support means a lot to me.

Hi Amani  My name is B. and I'm writing you from Vermont.  A member on Big Blue Interactive left a message saying that you got his comments when he emailed the site, so I thought I would do the same.  I don't expect a response, I just wanted you to know my thoughts.

Despite being 33 years old and the father of a baby girl, I have a favorite player on my favorite team.  Maybe that's for kids, but hey what can I say?  My Grandfather went to Michigan and I have a been a loyal Wolverine supporter since I was 10.  I followed you at Michigan and was really psyched when the Giants selected you.  I was even more excited to see your role on the Giants grow and grow over the years and see you ultimately become the quintessential Giant.  For me, it's all about your consistency.  You make tough catches, you get your feet down in bounds better than any receiver I've ever seen.  When you gave it all you had in Philly a few years back and had to be carried off the field.  Amazing.

Amani:  Thank you for taking the time to e-mail.  It’s really appreciated and of course I always like to get a shout out from a Wolverine fan.

Amani,  Just wanted to let you know that I always respected the way you performed and
gave 100%.
As a young boy, I enjoyed watching Del Shofner (#85). As an older fan, I
enjoyed watching you (#81).
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. I wish you success and want to say thanks for the memories. I'll still keep a picture of one of your classic toes-in-bounds catches as my screensaver. G. C.

Amani:  Wow, I’m flattered to be on your screensaver.

Thanks for all your support over the years.

Amani, you have been my favorite Giant for years.  I don't know what the future holds for you.  I really wish the Giants would bring you back and you could retire a Giant.  But if that doesn't happen, I still want to get an authentic #81 Toomer Giants jersey to wear with pride.  #21 might be Phillips these days.  But #81 will *always* be Toomer to me.  I'll pick that up soon.

I don't know what fan input means to you.  But as a Giants fan, I literally follow the team day in and day out every single day.  It's more than a hobby.  It's part of who I am.  It means a lot to me.  The Giants mean a lot to me.  When the final play was made at the SB last year,  the first thing I thought to myself was Amani won a ring.  Hot damn.  You are a Super Bowl champion and always will be.

At the end of the day all I can really say is Thanks.  Thanks for your effort.  Thanks for being the best player you could on the Giants for over the past decade.  Just, thank you.  I mean it.  I hope you get this. You are a champion.  Sincerely,  B. N.

Amani:  Fan input means a great deal to me, B.  And when I was a kid and hoping to be a player one day, I was a fan too and felt the same way you do.

Hi Amani.  My name is T. B.  I'm 33 years old and I'm an Associate Principal at Heritage High School (Keith Hamilton's old high school in Lynchburg, VA).  I'm a big Giants fan and have been so since I was in high school.  I live in Roanoke and I played against Tiki and Ronde in high school.  They are friends of mine and I keep up with them from time to time.  I met you after the Tampa game (it was Tiki's last year as a Giant).  You were limping pretty badly and I asked if you were ok and took a picture with you.  I just want to say that I appreciate all you did as a player for the New York Giants.  Regardless of what happens during free agency, you will always be a Giant.  I will never forget the Philly game when you had to be carried off the field.  You were a true warrior that game and have been your entire career.  May God bless you as you continue your career and after you conclude your career.  Stay blessed.

Amani: Thank you for your support and for taking the time to write.

Hi Amani,  It's me B. H. from Iowa again, Please say you won't leave!!!! My Dad has already made plans to come to Kansas City and the Vikings Games next year!  Please say you will be there.  I'm only 16 years old so think how much of my life I've been a fan or yours.  I know you have to do what is best and I will support whatever choice you make. Please stay.  I really would like to see you at a home game as I have never been able to come to the Giants home field.  My dad promised to take me once the new field is opened.

God Bless Amani!  You have a special talent and you have shown that to the
WORLD!

Amani:  Good to hear from you again, B.  I can’t tell you anything that will make you happy because the decision isn’t entirely up to me.  I just don’t think I fit into the Giants’ plans anymore so I’ll have to go somewhere else if I want to continue playing.

Hey Amani. Thanks for 13 excellent seasons. Regardless of where you finish up you will always be remembered as the most productive WR we have ever had here. The King of the sideline catch and Mr.Clutch. You were huge for us in the playoffs when we won the Super Bowl, not many people remember you were the leading receiver in the playoffs for us that season. Many great games over the years there is too many to list, but i will always remember the way you abused the Colts in 2002 and when you dominated the Jaguars in 2000 in the last game of the season to get the Giants home field and the #1 seed. Both those days you were amazing. And Champ Bailey was pretty happy when he got traded from the Skins because he didn't have to face you twice a year. I think he still has nightmares about you. Good luck to you wherever you wind up Mr. Toomer, and thanks for a hell of a ride.

Amani:  No, I want to thank you for your support over the years. Your e-mail brought back a lot of good memories.

The New York fans have been great to me and I really enjoyed my years with the Giants.

Dear Mr. Toomer, For what it is worth, as a Giant fan, you have been a constant source of
pride for me, and I have been a fan since I was six years of age.  To put it in context, Lawrence Taylor would've been about eleven!

Your conduct on and off the field has been exemplary, especially in an age when our society seems to reward those void of character but replete with woefully exaggerated senses of entitlement, unfettered by any sense of responsibility.

If you do not remain a Giant, I personally will be very disappointed by your lack of presence on the sidelines, in the huddle, and more importantly, in the all too important game changing play making that has become a trademark of your athletic capabilities. Wishing you all the best, Sincerely, N.

Amani:  Thank you for emailing.  I appreciate your kind words and your support.

I have no idea what the Buffalo Bills are waiting for!  Amani Toomer would be a PERFECT fit for what the Buffalo Bills offense is trying to accomplish, that being offensive consistency.  I believe with emerging stars in Trent Edwards, Jason Peters, Marshawn Lynch, and Lee Evans, Amani Toomer could be that missing piece to a return to the glory days!!  His experience, size, and the fact that he's played in a cold weather climate his entire career should only entice the Bills to sign him immediately!  What are the Bills and Amani waiting for?   J. R.

Amani: Free agency just began so who knows where I’ll end up at this point?  Thanks for your support.

You are my favorite player in the NFL, and the giants are my favorite team. I know you probably don't care about this letter but I hope you do.You are a great guy and a great wide receiver maybe not the best but you are the best in the way you play and the way your attitude works.  I'm not an
adult if that's what your wondering, I'm only 14 haha. But the NFL is great and I'm going to try to be a wide receiver myself. Okay lets get to the point I've been checking up with you on the computer to make sure your not retiring or signing with someone else. I've just recently found out that you
might not go back to the giants next year, and I understand why because of the offensive coordinator cutting your plays.  You guys were doing great last year until the end and Eli manning did really bad that last day.  It was upsetting to me because I thought you guys were going to win two super bowls in a row. Don't tell Hixson but he's not too good. After Plaxico Burress shot himself you became number 1 again. Over time during last year I've noticed Eli not passing to you as much it made me mad because when he threw to Hixson he dropped the BALL!  Well you probably don't care but it would make my day if you would stay with the giants. If the offensive coordinators cut off your time next year I would definitely understand if you leave. I live in arroyo Grande California. Please give the giants one more chance. II you want to contact me please e-mail me back at:-------- You are the best to me!   A. L.

Amani:  Thank you, A. but it’s not as simple as that because I don’t think I figure in the Giants plans.  So if I want to continue playing,  and I do, it looks like it will have to be somewhere else.

Hi Amani,  As a long time Giants fan, I just wanted to say, first and foremost, that that I hope you return to the Giants.
Not only are you a hell of a player, but you bring a sense of professionalism to the team. I don't think I've ever seen you trash talk in all your years in the NFL. Whatever happens, thanks for being a true blue Giant.  Sincerely,  T.G.

Amani:  Thank you.  I really appreciate your support and your taking the time to e-mail me..

Amani, I have been a loyal Giants fan for 40 years and moved to the California  bay area in 1978.  I have enjoyed watching your career from De LaSalle to the NFL.  You are a classy guy. I hope you can return NY this season and under terms that work for you.  Thank you for your tremendous contribution to the Giants organization and the incredible role model that you provide for young boys.

If we don't see you back, I wish you all the best where ever you land.  It has been a pleasure watching and routing for you.   K.

Amani:  Thank you.  The support of fans like you really means a lot to me.

Good evening, we enjoyed watching you play and appreciate what you have done through the years.  We also enjoyed being a our first Giants training camp in 2008 and meeting you, your father and other family members.

Do you think you can put more pictures on you in action on your website?  We have been wondering why it is not easy to get your Jersey, is it possible to sell items on your website?
Thanks, S, S and G. S.

Amani:  I have been meaning to get some updated pictures on the web site.  Thanks for reminding me.

We don’t sell merchandise on the web site but Giants.com has a store and perhaps you can get my jersey there.  If not, any ESPN store should have it.

I know I speak for all the die-hard Giants fans out there when I say to Amani: "Thank you." Its been wonderful to watch you play all these years. I hope the organization is treating you with the respect and gratitude you deserve. Wherever your career takes you, best of luck. D. B.

Amani:   And I also want to thank you for your support all these years.

...for [how many years?] a while now.  I have always felt that you were an unsung hero and I've been heard countless times screaming "It's not a Tooma!" whenever you scored a touchdown or made a fantastic catch. Watching you play, it seems as though you must hold one or more patents on the two-foot-down-toe-drag catch; as I have seen you do it umteen times.I was so saddened to hear about the falling out between you and management.  I hate the business side of football.  There is so much to be said for loyalty and professionalism...characteristics you have had since I've been watching you play.  I've never heard any news of you badmouthing the coaching staff or
another player.  I have never heard you bragging or talking trash to the media about your prowess.  Hixon and Smith are fine atheletes, but the Giants needed a seasoned veteran to take them all the way.  I bleed Blue for life, BUT AMANI TOOMER, YOU HAVE MY RESPECT WHEREVER YOU MAY PLAY!!! (even the Raiders, lol)  Stay cool and classy,  K.L.

Amani:  Thanks for taking the time to e-mail me, K.  I really appreciate your support.

thanks amani i to wish they used you more your always there with good hand  and great catches if you are having a signing in the nj area can you let me know would like to meet you and shake your hand please stay a gmen could not see you in another uniform i hated when ike left not you too they better pay you to stay a great fan s.b.

Amani:  Thanks for writing, S.  I hope we will have the opportunity to shake hands at some point.

Hello Amani Just wanted to Thank-you sooooo much for my tee-  shirt! My friend  Joe,sent it to me. He asked if i could have any signature of my  G-Man, who did i want. I said "Toes" of course!(I have nicknamed you Amani The  Toes Toomer:)  ) You are the most consistant receiver in the  league!
I have the tee shirt from last year's  championship! Keep telling Joe to get me a jersey signed from you,so I have a  jersey to wear here in Gardnerville Nv,(i'm 14 miles from Lake Tahoe) when i  watch the games since i'm  usually the only Giants Fan  in any  establishment i watch the games in. I don't mind,  cause my G-Men are  consistantly the best!
Also, if yo uever get a chance, please support  Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. We don't have any big names to bring awareness to  the disease, bu tit is awful. Ask joe what i have been through! Along with  millions of others! Excuse my terrible typing, it is from RSd...... More info  available at
RSDS.ORG.....Keep inspiring us ! and blessings to you and  your family!  kindly, M.B.

Amani: Thank you for supporting me and the rest of the team.

I’m glad you’re enjoying your tee shirt but really sorry to learn that you’re suffering from RSDS.

Amani-I just wanted to thank you for the great years with the Giants. I've been a Giant fan since before you were born. I'm a personal friend of old #29 Alex Webster and just had to thank you. I have loved watching you play the game at the level you do. Hoping you will be retained by the Giants so that when you do finally retire it will be as a Giant. In closing, THANKS  B. H.

Amani:  And I want to thank you for both your e-mail and your support.

HI Just to let you know a junior high school student got killed Monday bus ran over him and his birthday was either yesterday or today would have been 13 and was a great big giant fan and my father in law to me he liked 81 happened northhampton Pa at the school so sad,god bless him
just wanted you to know  J.

Amani: That is terrible.  Please express my sympathy to the family.

Amani,  Do not get a chip on your shoulder because the free agent thing. The Giants management seems be taking to long making critical decisions.  All the great catches of the 2008 season belong to you. Come back to NY keep those young guys on the bench. Dresses Nice smesses nice your
nickname is still GOAT!  E.

Amani:  Thanks for your support, E.

Dear Amani I too have been a fan for over 50 years and the one thing I can still remember is the loyalty of players to one team. I have also been a fan of yours since you came in the league and it would be a disgrace for the team to turn its back on you. I firmly believe that had Wellington Mara still be alive this would not be happening. I have also emailed the Giants with my sentiments and hope they will see the light and get you resigned. J.C.

Amani:  Thank you, J. for both of the e-mails.  Your support really means a lot to me.

I didn't realize that I could reach you personally to ask questions.  If you don't mind, here are a few:

1. Please don't leave? You are the source of more game saving and game changing plays than anyone who has ever been on the team in the 50 years that I have been a Giant fan. Kind of like Reggie Miller was when he played for the Pacers.  The extraordinary play that happens now and again in a game is the intangible ingredient that makes any sport worth watching.  Without them, the game is boring.  Please find a way to remain on the team?
2. There are talented Giant players that are not 1st stringers. One that comes to mind is David Carr.  I got to watch him in training camp and he seems to throw the ball like a shot-put but it works.  Would you say that if it were necessary for him to play (if Eli were to get hurt), that the team would not suffer much in quality of performance at that position?  I would hate to see him leave the team.
3.  Even though the Giants had a surplus of talented receivers at the beginning of the year, do you think that it would have been better to have kept Brandon London over the smaller receivers that were kept?  It seems like Eli needs a big target and London was a talented receiver with size and desire. Thanks, D.

Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail, D.  Your first question is one I really can’t answer, much as I’d like to, because the decision is not entirely in my hands.  But I’m as anxious as you to know what is going to happen.

2. First, I’m glad to hear that you come out to support the team during training camp.  That means a lot to us.

Coaching staffs on every team in the league look for a solid backup at QB and I think the Giants found one in David Carr.  But again, I can’t say whether he’ll remain with the team or not.

3.  Brandon London is a very good receiver.  But the Giants kept other receivers that also fill the bill.  Hixon for example is a big and talented receiver too and he also has the desire.

Dear Amani,  I am a 50 year Giant fan going back to Kyle Rote and Frank Gifford.  I attended all Giant playoffs games at Giants Stadium, including the Eagle game (Sec. 133, Lower tier).

You are absolutely right and as a fan, I was concerned at the end of the 1st Qtr. that the game plan was terrible.  Yes there were many other negative factors across the whole team but I noticed the following:
  1.  Almost no short, 7 -15 yard quick passes downfield, slants, pics, etc.
  2.  If I am correct, you were not even thrown to until the 4th quarter.  I was commenting about this in the first half.  I couldn’t believe it.
 3.  No play action passes.
 4.  I went to the first row before the game and I do not see how the wind was a factor and that Eli is now said to not be able to throw in the wind.  No way.
 5.  Run 11 out of 12 plays in the 4th quareter when the team is down 2 scores.

Many other things contributed to the loss.  You were non-existent in the game plan which is a disgrace to the coaching staff.

I want to thank you for all the great plays you made over the years.  I. S.
Amani:  I really appreciate your taking the time to e-mail me.  I am very grateful for the support of the fans.

Amani, I agree with your comments. In my opinion g. is an a------.  I can't believe that after the game you had against the redskins the literally demoted you. They didn't realize that you could make the plays under pressure. Thanks for all the great thrills. I don’t want to lose you, but I wish you well. a. h.

Amani: Thanks, A., for the vote of confidence.  I appreciate it.

Dear Amani Toomer,  We read in the paper today that you are disappointed about your lack of playing time with the NY Giants.  As big fans of the NY Giants we would hope that you can come to some type of positive decision with the powers that be at the NY Giants executive offices.

It would be a big mistake of the NY Giants not to provide you with the much needed playing time.  You are a key player of instrumental plays for them to see success in the 2009 season.  All our best, The M D's

Amani:  Hopefully, we can reach an accommodation that works for everyone.  I really appreciate your support.

Amani-No matter what your decision, I am going to stand by you. You are one of my all time favorite Giants players, but I will for sure be an Amani Toomer fan no matter what team you play for. I'd love to see you stay in New York, but I understand with certain circumstances that things happen that may be better for you and your future. I come from a HUGE Big 10 upbringing (being from the Penn State area) so I appreciate your Michigan collegiate career and I wish you only but the best. I'd LOVE to see you stay a Giant and I am going to be so sad to see you go, if you do. I agree that you should have been the #1 man, and even so, you will always be my #1 Giant ;) Good luck with everything Amani.  A.

Amani: Thank you for writing.  I’m very grateful to the fans like you who have taken the time to write and support me.

Dear Mr. Toomer, As a lifelong Giants fan, I have appreciated all you have done for the franchise, was thrilled that you got your ring last year, and am now saddened to read of the apparently inglorious end to your time with the NYG.

You have been the epitome of a professional, and I know the locker room, and the young receivers on the team will be the poorer for your absence.  It is truly a shame when the business side of this sport manifests like this, and I hope you know the fans hold you in much higher regard than the front office apparently does.  I wish you the best next season, and will always be grateful for your time in a Giants uniform.  Regards,  A. H.

Amani:  Thank you very much for your kind words, A.  It really means a lot to me.

Hi Amani, I have been a Giant fan for 55 yrs and you are one of my favorite players.  I agree that you were under used in the last part of the season. You are an intricate part of that offense and should be involved early. I am saddened that you may not be back but I see you every day along with L.T., Harry Carson, Tiki and Bill Parcells hanging on my wall in my sports room. Best wishes wherever you go. B.V.

Amani: Thank you for your e-mail.  Your support is important to me.

Hi amani:
I sent you a letter care of the Giants.  I do hope you receive it.  But just in case :

I said in my letter that being a Giant fan since 1948  I saw in person all the great Giant receivers.
In my opinion you were the greatest clutch player the Giants ever had, starting with your punt returns and ending with you clutch catches in Super Bowl 42.
I for one do not understand when the team needed clutch catches in the last Eagle game, you were ignored.

But then I am not a Gilbride  fan. However, whatever you do I wish you the very best and  thanks for all the great memorable plays. most sincerely and respectfully,  J.H.

Amani:  You are a long-time fan if you remember my returning punts.

Your opinion means a lot to me and I really appreciate your email.

Amani --No worries man.  You have established by deeds and actions your character and dedication as one of the all-time great (NJ) Giantfootball players.

I can only shudder to think how Babe Ruth or Mickey Mantle would havebeen perceived if electronic recording devices were ubiquitous then theway they are now.  Heck, you were at
a charitable event trying to dosome good and someone caught you off-guard.  Joe Torre and
the Yankeeswill know you off the back page pretty quickly.

Anyway, thanks for a fantastic career and good luck with the departure. It happens to everyone and whether you leave the Giants and the NFLsooner or a bit later, you were extremely successful.  Hold your headhigh brother -- you accomplished more than 99% of NFL players ever do.I remember Ike Hilliard who was quite talented and maybe not so lucky.Mark Ingraham, well you get the idea.

Typical, no-longer-suffering Giants fan, truly appreciates your effortover the years.  D. R.

Amani:  Thank you for taking the time to e-mail me.  The support of fans means a lot to me and I really appreciate your e-mail..

Amani you are by far the best WR in Giants History. I hope you come back next year but if you don't Good Luck with any team you go too. M.

Amani: Thank you for your support and your e-mail, M.

Hello Amani, My family are descendants of a branch of the Toomer family that hails from Albany, Georgia.  I have reason to believe that my Toomer's originated in a town called Palmyra and migrated to Albany. My great grandmother was Sarah Hayes and she married Will Toomer who I believe was a preacher. I have been doing my ancestry search for some time now and keep running into stumbling blocks when it comes to Will and Sarah. I believe that they both were of mixed race and that Will had a relationship with his white father. I do know that Sarah and Will divorced and that Will re-married, but I do not know his wife's name. One of their daughters was named Mamie. Do any of these names mean anything in your family history? Thanks.  D.

Amani:  I can’t answer your question right now because I haven’t traced my family tree.  My dad has though so if he knows some of those names, I’ll get back to you after I talk with him.

Hi: Mr. Toomer quick question u properly can help me with. Why don't Coach Coughlin design a play with Jacob and Ward in the back field and hit u deep.

Amani:  I can’t really answer your question because I’m a player and it’s my job to run the plays called.  It’s the coaching staff’s job to design the plays.

Hi, My name is M. M. There is a website I'm sure Amani knows about its www.bigblueinteractive.com

We talk about Giants football 90% of the time and well Amani came up in a recent thread and some really nice things were said. Please let Amani know that his fans in NJ/NY really want him to retire as a Giant. I know football is a business and hes got to do what hes gotta do but ....for so many years hes been a part of our lives on Sunday. The ups and downs.  I remember back in 1998 I moved back here NJ from Florida and Amani was doing a cable show and talking about how he started taking martial arts and that actually helping him on the field w/ discipline etc.... The SB loss, The SB won His sideline catches, His catch beating Denver .... A CLASS ACT !    the G.O.A.T ! ! ! !

Amani:  Thank you for taking the time to pass on your support as well as that of others at BBI.  I really do appreciate it.

hi amani, im m. d. from albany ny. i want to tell you im a michigan football fan and was thrilled when the giants signed you .and you proved to be a giant alltime great! i bleed giant blue and i really hope the giant brass has the good sense to sign you until you decide to hang it up.i know you still got a lot of gas left in you,and with your talent and leadership ability you can teach the young guys a thing or two. i just want to tell you your a class act and wish you well either way thanks #81 and god speed. M.

Amani: Thanks for your e-mail and good wishes.  I guess we’ll both have to wait and see what happens.
Sir, I recently read the article in Newsday concerning your current state in the Giants Organization.  May I share a thought with you. I am older than you, a father of two grown men, whom I hold close to my heart.  I teach them every day life situations the best I can, share with them the real meaning of doing good and enjoying what life has to offer them.  Aside from the natural bond of father and sons, we have sports, and all it
encompasses.
You, young man, have always been a subject of true team spirit, very rare in this tough world of egos and money.  You have been one of my top examples I share with them of what it takes to portray a professional attitude, dependability in crucial situations, and of above all, that team effort to succeed.
As a Giant, please know that there are many people out there who believe in those qualities about you.  They wear your jersey, they shout your name.  They know you are the one.  I'm not the one who does the screaming, I just smile, nod my head, and say he has "IT", whatever it may be. Good luck to you sir, and thank you for being that fine example for my sons to see in this great era of Giant football we are in.  True Blue,  D.Z.

Amani:  Thank you for your support Mr. Z.  I’m extremely flattered and appreciative that you would use me as a role model for your sons.

Please do not leave the Giants!! My friends and I are already counting down the days till next season starts (it's like 240ish days). If you are not there next season we will be devastated.
On a happy note congrats on your new playground!
Thanks for a great season- win, lose, or tie (and yes Donovan, you can tie in football) we love the GIANTS!!
Best of luck in the offseason,  Fans from Florida

Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail.  It’s nice to know there are die-hard fans in Florida.  Stick with us and I believe you’ll be more satisfied with next year’s results.

Hi Amani, This is B. H. from Iowa.  It broke my heart to see the season end this way and also the talk of you leaving the Giants.  Amani, There simply is no better player on the team at your position!  My Dad always tells me to watch you're feet at the end of a sideline catch. Please stay on one more year.  My Dad is taking me to two games next season. Kansas City and Minnesota.  If you should leave, I will miss you!!!! Thanks again for waving at me at the Vikings game.  I will be your number one fan but if you play for another team I will have to cheer for you when Dad is not looking  haha. Taka Care Amani and God Bless.B. & S. H.

AmanI:  I too hope to be with the Giants next year but in this business you never know. But I do appreciate your dad's and your e-mails and support .

I was very impressed by your playing this year. You are a consummate professional on and off the field.  Sorry about the loss. Next year; all the way!  Come on out to the Pro Bowl. I'll buy you a Mai Tai. K.

Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail, K., and the offer of a Mai Tai.

Amani: I have been a loyal Giants fan from Massachusetts for over 50 years.  I hope that you get a chance to catch 3 touchdown passes this Sunday and that the Giants smash the Eagles.  I will be glued to my TV set at game time and rooting you on to victory.  Good luck Amani!!!!!!!!!! R. H.

Amani:  I’d like that myself.  Thanks for your e-mail, R.

Hey, Be happy, God has been faithful to you.  Don't be hard on yourself or don't get too serious.  Relax and enjoy each game one game at a time.  After 13 years in the league, you have nothing to proof to no one but yourself.  Good luck.  And remember whatsoever you do, do it whole hearted unto yourself as well as to your team.  God loves you and so do I.  I am praying you and yours family.  Be Bless of the Lord. M. W.

Amani:  Thanks for your support.

Dear Mr Toomer,Could you please give this message to coach Spagnola.  If you are going to rush McNabb with only a three or a four man line, you may just as well stay home.  He will short pass
you to death.  If McNabb is running around trying to avoid tackles.  He gets tired to.  If you try this you will get the results you want.  If you attack him with three or four men and he completes all his passes that means that the four man rush is not working. Good Luck you will need it.  JB

Amani:  Thanks for taking the time to e-mail.

Hey, Not sure if Amani Toomer will get this or not...I'm an avid GIANTS fan?who lives in the Philadelphia area and has went to quite a few Giants/Eagles games at the old vet in the 600 level with all of my Giants garb on...I am sending the link to a local news station with Donovan McFlabb talking after the Minnesota game about you guys.  Gotta say Amani Toomer is the most under rated receiver in the NFL...I say he is the best and most disciplined...always gets his feet down!!!  Good luck!!!!!!  J.

Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail and the link, J.  I appreciate your suport and hope we'll both like the outcome of Sunday's game.

I recently picked up my trumpet for the first time in years and I couldnt help but remember the old school times and old school peeps in Mr. D's class. HE was the man! Anyways good…on your career!  Always good to see people from Aptos who made it out. P. E.

Amani:   You’re right, I played trumpet in the band but I don’t play anymore. I was terrible!   I was REALLY bad; it was a humbling experience.  I didn’t like to practice so I didn’t get any better.

Dear Mr. Toomer, please understand this is not a fanatic asking questions, I have a 32 year old, 12 year old, and a 3 year old.  They are asking if you are a relative due to the fact we have the same last name.  Toomer is a unique name, and, I know very few people with the last name of Toomer.  I realize you have all types who is interested for whatever reason.  I was talking to a young kid who plays football with the Abyssinian football team for tiny tots, and he asked you if you knew me.  This took place on the east side of Harlem.  If you would like to reply it would be a pleasure. Good Luck with this weekends game with the panthers. R. T.

Amani:  Since Toomer isn’t a common name, I think there's a good chance we are related in some way.  Most of the Toomers I’ve met have been related to me at least distantly.

Hi Amani, Happy New Year to you and yours.  I know that the NFL, at the end of the day, is a business and that you will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.  However, IF it is your heart's desire, as it is mines, I hope that you can remain a New York Giant. If not, I am sure that you will embrace what must be an exciting time in your life that is, being an unrestricted free agent. Nonetheless, please note that you are definitely one of the best to have ever played at your position. Believe that.  Be  well.  T.

Amani:  Thank you, I appreciate your e-mail.  I’m definitely excited about my opportunities but I just want to focus on the playoffs for now.  I think if I play well, the chips will fall in the right area.  That’s what I’m hoping for.

HI MY NAME IS TORA TOOMER FROM JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA I NOT SURE IF AMANI AND I ARE RELATED OR NOT WELL ONE OF HIS FANS WHICH IS MY FATHER N LAW NAME WILLIE TOOMER HE IS FROM SOUTH CAROLINA  HE IS VERY ILL HE HAS HAD 3 OPEN HEART SURGERIES IN ONE WEEK BUT HE IS TRULY A BIG FAN AND I HOPE HE CAN MEET AMANI BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE FOR HIM HE HAS NUMEROUS HEALTH PROBLEMS THAT THE FAMILY IS TRYING TO DEAL WITH. SO ONE DAY IF AMANI CAN VISIT JACKSONVILE FLORIDA FOR CHARITY CAUSE THAT WOULD BE WONDERFUL FOR MY FATHER N LAW BECAUSE HE IS A HUGE FAN!!!  AND HE IS HANGING IN THERE  PHOTO WILLIE IN THE MIDDLE WITH SONS AT MY WEDDING

Amani:  Well, there aren’t many Toomers around. It isn’t a very common name so I would imagine we’re related in some way.  If I get to Jacksonville, I’ll definitely try to contact your father-in-law.

My name is J. M.S. (7 yrs old) and I am a big Giant fan - I even went to the Super Bowl last year with my dad.  Good luck in the playoffs – I would love to see a repeat -

Amani:  Thanks for your support, J.  I'd love to see a repeat too.  Maybe we'll both be at this year's Super Bowl again.

Hi Amani, This is B. H.  I've have chatted with you on your web page.  I did get to travel to the
Viking's game for my Christmas present and as you ran off the field from practice my Dad called your name and you did turn and wave to us :-) Thank you so very much.  My Dad drove over 500 miles so we could see the game. If you want to know a secret, I think my Dad would have made the trip anyway because he is a Giants fan.

Amani, I know you had so many things to think about before the game.  I just wanted to thank you for being a people person and taking the time while you had to practice to wave to me and my family.  I understand you receive so many emails and letters from fans but I want to wish you a Very Merry Christmas to you and you're family and a Happy New Year! Thanks again for waving to me.  God Bless.

Amani:  Happy holidays to you and your family too, B.

Your dad e-mailed before the game and I told him I would listen for his shout out.

Sorry we couldn't have won this game for you.

Hey Amani! I'm a 22 yr old from CT, Life long Big Blue Fan, and I make it to almost every home game. I just wanted to let you know how great it is to have such a silent killer on our team for so long.A Big Team Player Is Always Bigger Than A Big Players Name. You deserve much more respect, and as far as Im concerned you're the most consistently clutch player in G-Men history. Never again will there be sideline catches like the Toomer's! Good Luck on your trip to get a chance of a re-peat, hope to see you in another parade!  S.P.M.

Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail and your support.  I hope you get to see me in another parade too.

The entire city and tri-state area is behind you Amani, as you head into the post-season. Good luck tomorrow against the Vikings, enjoy the week off, then give us a good show at the Meadowlands. I know you will. Go get another title!  N. G.

Amani:  Thanks for your support, N.  Keep cheering us on and we'll try to bring it home.

Amani, this Sundays game against the Vikings is big as they all are but I would really like to see you catch the ball at least 10 times in a game; the fans need you to be a major player since the Plex. thing. I've been a Giant fan since I was 12 yrs old, I'm 50 now, and you're a very good player, I would like for you catch 2 TD's in the next game!!!! GOOD LUCK Sunday 28 December 08.  P.B.

Amani:  Thanks for your support, P.  I'd like nothing better myself.
Hi Amani i am a big fan of you! My name is C. Amani:  Players don’t create their own fan clubs, C.  Fans create them. So if you want to you can go ahead and form one and name yourself president.  I’d feel honored if you did.

BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  M. M.

Amani:  I can’t really answer your question but I think it’s a case of practicing the same thing over and over for years so that you don’t have to stop and think about it when the situation arises.

This is not a football question and not a plea for money of any sort. I just bought a Samsung T.V. from Electronics-Expo which did not work right out of the box.  It is the LN52a650 model which for a teacher is quite expensive.  Expo will not work with me and Samsung will not work with me.  They set up an appointment for me today with a window for service between 9 and 5 on 12-6-08.  The person did not show and I wasted an opportunity to take my kids to see Santa being I was waiting for the tech guy.

Being that I have seemingly exhausted all avenues to get this rectified and I noticed before I purchased this t.v. that your picture is on the samsung t.v's and that Samsung sponsors the NFL, I thought maybe you could give me some advice or make a call for me.  I do not want any money, just thought that maybe you could help out.  I just want to exchange my t.v. and get one that works, and no one will listen to me.  I am not a crack pot, you can ask your friend David Tyree, our kids used to go to school together and he knows me somewhat.  I have enclosed a picture of me and my family only so you can show him. He will recognize me and can vouch that I am not a mooch.  I just need someone with some pull to help me get what I paid for being that nobody seems to care. Thank You Very much in advance.  C.A.

Amani:  I’m afraid I don’t know anyone at Samsung and I certainly don’t feel I have any pull with anyone there.  I think the best thing is to keep pursuing it.

Are there any upcoming public autograph sessions planned? Thanks.  C. S.

Amani:  There is one coming up on the 30th but I don’t yet know the time or location.  I’ll try to remember to post it on my web site.  Thanks for your e-mail.

Hello, I am a huge Giants fan. I witnessed in person the fantastic victory in Superbowl XLII.  I would like to know how I can purchase an authentic signed Amani Toomer Superbowl jersey. There are none available on eBay or in sports memorabilia sites.  Thank you. GO GIANTS ALL THE WAY! M. N.

Amani:  You’ve checked the places I would have suggested so beyond those sites, I’m afraid I just don’t know how to help you.

Dear Mr. Toomer, I have a son that is a big fan of yours( he says he has hands like yours and never drops those long passes). He has asked for a giants jersey for Christmas with your name and number. Being a key player on the team I don't understand why I can't find a jersey of yours anywhere. I am killing myself both online and driving all over Long Island stopping in any sports store. I was hopping that maybe you could guide me as to where I can get your jersey. If this was something that I just started knowing the holidays were near I could understand but I have been at this for weeks. Any little help would be greatly appreciated. Ouwhole family are fans!Thank-you,  M. H.

Amani: The official website of the Giants has an on-line store and I think you should be able to get my jersey there.  Check out Giants.com.
Congratulations on your divorce from someone who was obviously not your soul mate.
You are Young and gifted and there will be others just take your time and choose wisely because life is to precious to waste on nonsense.
I live in WI and I am old enough to be your mother but I am a fan and for this Christmas my husband just ordered me Jersey # 81 You Go Toomer. I don't know whether to wear it or frame it. I want it signed. I asked my husband who is from NY about coming to see a game on our visit there on Dec 27,2008 and he said that all the tickets were sold out.  I'll get over that just bring home the Ball this Superbowl 2009. A Fan Mrs. L.R.

Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail.  It was nice to hear from you and I appreciate your support.

Amani,  In the event that you do not receive this I will keep it short and sweet.
First off, congrats on the NFCE title, you ALL worked very hard for it and deserve it!
Just keep your heads in the game and do what you do best - be the best dam football team in the country!
If you do read this please pass this along to the team and let them know (I know you hear this type of stuff all the time) that you have two NY\NJ transplant families all the way down here in Atlanta rooting for you every single week. You guys are the best! Go get that 2008 SB!   J. G.

Amani: Thanks for your support, J. and I'll be sure to pass your message along.

Wow! What a Fantastic catch Amani! You've showed us all why your there and continue to be the prime WR on the team. You have my vote for the Pro Bowl along with everyone in the family.  I have to be a little Jealous as you continue to be my daughters #1 topic around the house.  At 50 years old  running play action in the back yard tends to wear me out after a play or two. We will be at the Vikings Game on the 28th.  I'm sure you will be able to hear us up in the stands.  Thanks again for being a "NEW YORK GIANT" B. & S. H.

Amani:  Thank you, I’ll listen for you.

Hi Amani  A few months back I sent an email to you telling you how much fun it was to meet with you at the Bengals game the day after Christmas in Cincinnati I think in was 2004. I want to thank you for the reply.  My Dad is from Brooklyn but his job took us all to Iowa. Dad drove me ten hours to see that game for my Christmas present.  This year Dad is taking me and Mom to the game on Dec 28th in Minnesota for my present.  I can't wait!

Dad has told me that since it is a dome we may not be able to get down by the field like we did in Cincinnati.  My question for you is if there is a way, I sure would like to get to say hello again and maybe get you to sign
an autograph for me.  If you can't sign an autograph I will understand but I would like to get to at least say hello and to tell you that you are my very favorite player on the Giants team. Thank you very much Amani.  B.H.

Amani:  B., I don’t know what access you will have either but if you check out the instructions on the top of the fan Q&A on my web site, it will tell you how you can get autographs.

Just wanted to say that you guys are the absolute greatest team.  You can't win them all, and we're all still behind you and believe that we're gonna repeat! R. McC.

Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail, R.  Maybe we can’t win them all but we’re always going to try.

Dear Amani, I can say I have never written a player before. Been a big fan of the Giants
and yours for many years. I truly believe you are the best player on the field for the Giants every Sunday. Tiki always had my respect the way he handled himself, especially after a touchdown. I believe he said when asked, "Act like you've been there before". Amani, your a class act too. I know it's a team effort and a team win or loss, but I believe you've done more for this team then anyone. I believe when that new stadium is finished they should put a bronze statue of you out front. It would be of you completely stretched out catching a ball, and just your toes inside the playing field. How fitting would that be?!  Anyway, Good luck Sunday! Go Blue!  Best Regards,T.

Amani:  I appreciate your e-mail, T., especially since you say it's the first time you've ever written a player.  But the Giants have had a lot of great players over the years and if the Giants were going to have a bronze statue in front of the new stadium, I think there would have to be a lot of them.

But I like the thought!

hi am n. from st.thomas virgin island and i watch u guys play and u are very good keep up the good works.  N. A.

Amani:  Thank you.  It's good to know you get our games and enjoy them.

Mr. Toomer, Please never feel you are overlooked by the fans. The world needs and gets from you the example of what a good citizen should be. When I talk to my friends and family you are the example of a great professional player. I have no doubt you be enshined in the Giants Hall of Fame when you decide you have done enough. We are only known for what we show and the influence we have, you have given all of us a model to follow and a standand to keep.    THANK YOU  G. S.

Amani:  Thank you for your support, G. and I never have felt overlooked by Giants fans.  The fans have always supported me and I’ve always appreciated it.

Yo Amani whats happenin? Just wanted to stop by and say hey. You're one of the most underrated players in the league and I just wanted to tell you that I freaking love you and the GGGGGG-MEN!
Good luck vs. the Skins tomorrow and peace out!

Amani:  Thanks for your support.  I guess you liked the final score of our game with the Redskins.

Amani, you are one of the greatest WR in history. You make amazing catches dragging your toes right next to the sideline all the time. So how the hell did you drop that 1st deep pass right down the middle? ;^)   Just kidding, I'm glad you got that TD later on to make up for it. Good luck this week against the Redskins.  I'm so impressed with the way the Giants are playing this year and the way guys are stepping up when others are injured, just like last year. This is the 1st time after a Superbowl that the Giants are having a great year.  The strike in '87, Parcells retiring after '90 and then 9/11 in 2001. Keep up the good work. Tell Hixon thanks for a great game, was that a record for total yards from scrimmage? And when you see Tyree tell him the fans still love him and to work his ass off for next year. Thanks again from a true diehard fan, P.  McG.
p.s. I was at the Ravens game and it was great to see the Giants make Ray Lewis look
silly.

Amani:  Thanks for taking the time to write and I’ll pass on your messages.

Amani,  Let me start by saying that your my favorite player on the team. A llot of fuss goes around Plex but you are the man. If it wasn't for that awesome catch before half time on the superbowl, they wouldn't have gotten a field goal. In a way I enjoy the media covering other receivers like Plex and leaving you alone. That way you are the giants silent killer. When all else fails pass it to Toomer.......Let's Go Giants!!!!!!! J. O.

Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail, J.  I appreciate your writing and your support.

You should be WR #1.  Tell your week partner Plax to give back the money to the Giants and retire.  He played like a man last year and now is a garbage scrub.  Keep up the good work Toomer.

Amani:  Thanks for your support.  I really do appreciate it.

i know this probibly will never gewt to amani him self but i would like to say how big of a fan i am and i know you get a million people saying that but your cool

your favorite teen in the world

e.

Amani:  As long as you direct e-mails to my web site, I'll get them.

Thanks for e-mailing me and I really appreciate your support, e.

Amani,  First, Congrats on the best superbowl win ever!  Your one of the only players on offense I was able to find any contact info for so I wanted you to relay this message to Eli.  I have watched every game since he started and this season i noticed a disturbing trend that other defenses may pick up on… After determining this in the eagles game I was right on calling over 80% of the plays.  Please run this by him or the coaches.  I don't want defenses to pick up on this.  Thanks,  M.

Amani:  I’ll pass that right on to Eli.  And because of the nature of your e-mail, I’m omitting the specifics of  your observation.

Hello Mr. Toomer,I love the GIANTS, and the way that you have played with them for your entire career.  I  have a suggestion for a nickname for the offensive line.  Would you please share it with the other players?  It is G-FENSE.  Thank you for your dedication to the team, and I hope to see you make it into the Hall of Fame as a GIANT!  M. H.

Amani:  I’m sorry but I don’t understand your nickname for the offensive line.  You’ll need to explain it to me a little more.

Mr. Toomer,  Hopefully this email will get passed on to you so I don't have to feel like a complete knob for writing a piece of fan mail. It's nothing I've ever done before and I feel extremely awkward doing so please bear with me. I've been a hardcore Giants fan since we won in '86 (although I was watching them off and on prior to that for a couple of years). I've always loved the Giants way of football because it's the only way I've ever played and the only way it should be played - heart and unwavering dedication.
I've followed your career all the way from your days in Michigan. I happen to be a big time Wolverine fan since about 1990 so I was ecstatic when the G-Men drafted you. You arrived at the right time because they were in desperate need of a WR of your calibre. Before I start going off on a rambling tangent, let me just get to the point of this email. I know it probably doesn't mean anything coming from an average Joe but I just wanted to say thank you for being dedicated to the organization. With the advent of Free Agency it's very rare when you hear of a player who has spent their entire career with a club. I think that's the truest testament to a player's character. You're a guy who could have easily left for bigger bucks but showed dedication to the team and the fans and for that I'm eternally grateful. You continue to amaze me every Sunday with your ability to turn back time and play better and better each passing week. I won't even insult you by saying you're like a Second Coming of Jerry Rice. You're your own player. You're Amani Toomer and you'll be the measuring stick so many WRs in the future get compared to.
You're Canton, Ohio bound my friend and you deserve it. Take care. Stay healthy and continue to dazzle the NY Nation. Cheers!  I. E.

Amani:  Wow, I hope you don’t really feel like a “complete knob” because I’m really appreciative and flattered by your e-mail.  Thanks for taking the time to e-mail me.

As a 1997 Michigan grad, who remembers meeting you once in a classroom, and as a lifelong Giants fan, I have followed your career so closely.  I wore your jersey number in college on my only Michigan purchased jersey and wore the same jersey to many Giants games over the past 10 years.  I think you have had one of the great under-appreciated, consistent careers of any wide receiver I can remember from the past 20 years outside of perhaps a few big-name guys like Rice, Irvin, Moss, and some others who might have big stats.  As
you have gotten older, you seem to run more efficient, effective routes and have made big play after big play for the Giants.   Down the stretch last season, you had some really big games for us and it has not gone unnoticed.  Moreover, you seem to be one of the true gentlemen of the league and that's why I have been a big fan for a long time.  I know many people will think of Simms, LT, Morris, OJ Anderson and a few other guys as the best of the NY Giants in the 1985-2009 period.  I will always remember your career and the impact you have had on many Giant teams - you are a true NY Giant for life.

Thanks for bringing hard work and class to the NY Giants organization and for representing the University of Michigan so well. M

Amani:  Thanks for your support, M.  It’s especially nice to hear from an alum.

Hey Amani,  My nephew is 12 years old and has been playing football for a few years now.  He is by no means a fat kid, but he is a big boy for his age. He plays both on the offense and defensive lines.  He would like to pursue football as a career one day and of course support his favorite Aunt.  Do you have an words of wisdom or anything that you could do physically to make sure that he makes it to the pro's?  As for his Aunt,  YOUR AWESOME.  Keep up the great work this year.  Go Blue  D. M. V.

Amani:  I would say to just keep working at it.  Listen to the coaches, get in shape and stay in shape and running is always good.  Try to get as fast as possible.

Hello Mr. Toomer just wanted to drop a line and say what a pleasure it was to meet you. I was one of the flight attendants that took you and team to Pittsburgh. Although we never introduced ourselves I'm sure you will remember mixing your "Concoction" of cranberry juice and club soda with me on that flight. I chose not to converse about the team or anything personal in an effort to remain professional at work, I'm sure you understand. I am from New Jersey and still reside here and have always been a Giants fan. I know you must be a really busy guy and you more than likely receive numerous requests for different things, I just wanted you to know how much of a pleasure it was to meet you "Unofficially"…Take care and good luck with the rest of the  season.....E.

Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail, E.  It was nice to hear from you and to hear that you’re a Giants fan.

Just wanted to say what an awesome game yesterday was.  I have been a loyal fan for almost 16 years now.  I have been tormented since day 1 for being a Giants fan living in N.E.  I have to tell everyone that Giants were the home team before the Pats arrived.  I have had a blast being a fan too.  Every game is like being a kid in a candy store.  The emotion I get from watching you guys play is incredible.  My friend knows Steve Spagnuolo I guess...I have been trying since he was brought to the team to try to get a way to meet you guys.  I know you guys hear it all day/night, but there is no better fan than me.  I do not sit back and absorb stats etc, but I have spent 1/2 my life being a dedicated fan.  I still to this day..in fact wearing it now..have my 1st and only hat on.  I have done everything for the first time in this hat.  sounds weird huh?  My grandfather turned me on to you guys when he was still alive, and I have never strayed.  So I just wanted to say thanks again for making this the most enjoyable past time I can imagine.  And as always..if there is anything I can do to get a chance to meet you guys..I would be forever in your debt.  It's a big field, I can hide somewhere I am sure....lol.  J. ( N.) N.

Amani:  Thanks for your support, N.

Training camp is a great place to meet the Giants and speak with them briefly. So, next year if you can get away for a day or two, I think you’d enjoy the whole camp experience.

Amani Toomer,  I was one of the seventh grade students that got to see you when you came to George White. You were so cool and I was lucky enough to have gym with you too. I just wanted to tell you that you were awesome and that C. picked a very good player.  C.

Amani:  Thanks for taking the time to e-mail me, C.  I really had a good time at the school so I think I enjoyed being there as much as the kids seemed to enjoy having me.

Hi Amani, If you and your girlfriend decide to breakup drop me a line. I am attractive and I have my own money. DMJ

Amani:  Thanks for your support.

Amani,Your catch on 4th and 6 against the Steelers was one of the best catches I've ever seen!  A tremendous pass and even better concentration by you staying with it!!!  Did you think they safety was going to get to you before the ball did?  Your a rock!  The stabilizing force in the passing game!  Eli can always go to you to get something going!  It sounds crazy but you can sense it even watching it through the television!  You are the GOAT!!!!  A.

Amani:  Thanks for writing, A.  I really appreciate your support.  To answer your question, I always believed that I would get to the ball and make the catch and that the safety couldn’t prevent it.

hey man. your an awesome player. keep up the good work man. good luck this week.  V.C.

Amani:  Thanks for e-mailing, V.  It’s always good to know that the fans appreciate you  and support your efforts.

Hey Sir.....I doubt you will remember but you singed a Super Bowl team picture for me at Training Camp in Albany and you told me that you didn't even have one, not to rub it in I just thought it was funny and I really appreciate you taking the time to sign that for me......But my Question is do you know whether or not you guys will be returning to Albany after the 09 Summer Camp. Thank you for your time sir and good luck for the remainder of the season.  S. from Albany, New York

Amani:  I’m sorry but I don’t know yet.

Hi Amani, I have a football card of yours, but having trouble find the value of it.  The card is a 1996 Topps Stadium Club card.  Could get back to me with a price, thanks dude.  By the way, I loved how you and your team spanked the Seahawks Sunday (10/5/2008).  Does the entire team have the confidence that yall may make it to the play-offs?  R. P.

Amani:  I’m sorry but I have no idea about these things.  To answer your second question, I believe that the entire team does have the confidence that we can get to the playoffs.

Mr. Toomer. My name is W. I am currently running pulling tires and weights. Will that make me faster? Also,?I am eating 2 veggies a day five days a week and drinking lots of water. Will that, along with the sweat that comes with football practice, make me lose weight and become better? Thank you.

Amani:  I would say running track is more important than pulling tires and weights. There are techniques to running and you could get some assistance with that.   As to what you’re eating, I really don’t know how to answer that.  I don’t know what else you’re eating besides veggies.  I ate totally vegetarian while I was in India but otherwise eat fairly normally I guess.  But I do eat a lot of veggies.

listen i was wornding if you could help me. I dont want money i am 36 y/o i moved from ct. to co. for work.I have been a fan of the big blue wrecking crew since 10.Im a carpenter and reasnlty got blown off a roof.I have been living in asitedliveing for six months.I really dont get to see you gies and it bums me out.But the problem is i got mersa and people are treating me like a alian.I am very confused about this infection and I know that it is common in sports.I would like to hear from you to give me some confidence that i will be allright.Listen keep your head and just know that your the best, but i realy like E,man and will always stand by you nomater what happens to me.

Amani:  I’m really sorry to hear how ill you are and hope you’re better soon and can go back to watching the Giants.  You’re absolutely right that mersa is common in locker rooms and a lot of guys I know have gotten it.  I really don’t know what causes it but everyone I know has recovered with no ill effects so I believe you will also.  I’m rooting for you to get well just as you’ve always rooted for the Giants and I absolutely believe you will recover.

Hey Amani:  Congrats on another win....I was at Sunday's game and was fortunate to sit in section 100. (I usually sit in section 311)  It was great watching the game so close to the field and the team bench.  What a different perspective!

What are the white bands around your elbows for? I know that you always wear them.  Good luck with Cleveland.  Best wishes always-M. D.P.  (LGM)

Amani:  Hey, LGM, I wish I could give you a better answer but the truth is that I just enjoy wearing them.  But they have no special significance.

My fantasy league laughed at me when I drafted you. Tonight against Cleveland will say a lot I am 13 down with our scoring I need either 140 yards or 80 yards and a score. I know you see this today but I have always been a fan of yours in lieu of being a non Giant fan. You are a class act and true  leader on your team. Good luck for both of us. C.

Amani:  I’m sorry that last night’s loss to Cleveland was a disappointment to you.  It was to all of us on the Giants as well.

If you're somehow able to forward messages to Amani, that would be great.  I'm actually not a football fan at all but last night, my boyfriend forced me to watch football with him and I saw Amani and recognized the name immediately - it turns out, we went to nursery school together back in 1977 in Kensington, California. I have a feeling he'll remember me because I ended up being really good friends with a girlfriend of his early on in
junior high.  anyway, I'm living in NYC now so I just thought it would be nice to say hi from L. H. Like I said, if you're able to forward messages to Amani, great. If not, no biggie. Thanks for your time!  L.

Amani:  Oh, wow, I remember you from Kensington, L.  I definitely remember you.  Thanks for writing and saying hi.

Dear Mr.Toomer, Hello my name is K. and I am 12 years old, and was wondering if you could send me an autographed picture of yourself?  Thanks!!  Sincerely, K. C.

Amani:  I’m sorry K. but I have no way of complying with your request, as I don’t maintain an office or secretary to handle requests like these.

Hi, Amani, you are doing a good job. The professional ladies such as myself loves you.  We were wondering are you married? Thank You, K. G.

Amani:  No, I’m not married but I have a girlfriend that I live with.

My four year old son, E. has leukemia and he is a big fan of Mr. Toomer's. I was wondering if there would be anyway of getting Mr. Toomer to send him an autographed hat or card, or both?? He would be so happy! Thank you.

E. W.

Amani:  I’m really very sorry to hear about your family’s ordeal. And again I’m very sorry but I don’t have anyone to handle requests for cards or equipment so I am unable to comply with your request.  But please tell E. that I’m rooting hard for him to get well quickly.

Amani:  Congratulations on your win Sunday!  What a catch...way to go!  I am glad that Manning threw to you...you're the best!  Have a great week and enjoy your time off....M. DP.  (L. G. M.)

Amani:  Thanks, LGM.  I was certainly glad to get that catch too.

Updated pictures of Amani please??? M. DP. (LGM)

Amani:  We’re working on doing just that as others have made the same request.  Thanks again for your e-mail.

Amani, I moved here from NJ several years ago and in 2007 introduced the Giants to my 6 1/2 year old nephew M., he loves all sports and is a huge NY Giant fan, we are going to the Giants vs Cardinals game on Nov 23, M. would appreciate an autographed photo from you if that is possible  thanks, s. b.

Amani:  I’m sorry but I have no way of complying with your request, as I don’t maintain an office or secretary to handle requests like these.  I hope you understand and appreciate your support.

I have seen on several pics that you wear an IMPACT shoulder pad. I want to buy one, too, so I want to know which model you wear (with / without backplate).  Thanks a lot for your help,  Greetz from Germany  M.

Amani: I do wear the IMPACT padI wear the standard wide receiver’s pad.  I have a back plate but it’s not the long, full back plate so I guess you would say it doesn’t have a back plate.  It’s nice to hear from Germany, M.

Hey Amani, My name is T., I am 25 and from NJ. You are my all time favorite Giants player. I have a starter jersey of yours and a reebok one from several years ago. My chiropractor Blase Toto said he was or still is your chiropractor too, Is this true? I definately would like if you would remain a Giant for the next several years and have a chance to make the ProBowl which you should have been to many times. Well nice talking to you.  Your friend,T.

Amani: Thank you, T.  I too would like to make the Pro Bowl and I appreciate your support.  I know who Dr. Toto is but, no, he’s not my chiropractor.

Hey Amani, I know that there are plenty of wide receivers that get much more credit then you but I wanted to say you have been solid for the NYG for years and I can say that I wouldn't take any other receiver in the league over you. Thanks for being such a special, hardworking, professional player. You're the best!! S. M. F.

Amani:  Thanks; I really appreciate your support and your taking the time to write me.  The support of the fans means a lot to me.

Hi Armani: I will be attending the Bengals game. Will be in section 112 row 9 the end seats. After being a Giants fan for 46 years, I will get to see a live game in Giants stadium. I have seen Giants play in New England, but always preseason games. I have lived in New England for the past 36 years. Now I will get to see the Giants play a real game in their stadium. I am so excited. You have
been my  favorite player since you joined the team. I loved Ike also, hated to see him traded to the Bucks, but glad he is doing so well with them. I will send all my energy your way so you have a really special game on the 21st.  I tape all the Giants games, so I can watch them any time I feel like a
football game. I especially loved the playoff game against the Cowgirls, oops, I mean the Cowboys.  Two touchdowns, WOW, the first one was spectacular and the second one was really important. Those playoff games were special. I have watched all of them so many times, just love every minutes of them.
Good luck in all the remaining games. My wish is for a second superbowl win in two years.

GO GIANTS  A faithful fan. D.

Amani:  Thanks for taking the time to e-mail, D.  I appreciate your support and hope we have the kind of game that will make you proud of the Giants.  My wish for the second Super bowl is the same as yours.

Amani,  My son R. is a huge fan of you and the Giants.  Your Super Bowl run made his year (and mine too).  Ryan is a 9 year old from Lambertville, who is the quarterback of his Pee Wee football team and he would like to wish you well for the remainder of the season.   He would be thrilled to know that you received his message so could you please send him a short note back letting him know that you received this?  Many thanks, Go Giants  M.O’G.

Amani:  Thanks for your good wishes for the Giants’ season, R.  I wish you and your Pee Wee team success too.  Go R!

Hey Amani  Hope all is well with you. Just wanted to give a shout out to you and say best of luck with the season. Hoping for another Super bowl victory! I am die hard Toomer Fan, consider you as a friend in my head and 81 is my lucky number! I also wanted to know, since this is your 13th year in the League, would you consider writing, not necessarily a "tell-all" book, but write about your NFL experiences?  Thanks!  Miss V

Amani:  Yeah, I definitely think I’ll do that and I think it would be good for me to start cataloguing the different years and all the thoughts that were going through my head at that time.  I have a good memory so I’ll probably wait until after I’m retired, but I might start laying it out before then.

Hi Amani, Congratulations on Super Bowl 42 win and also on Thursday Night. Have been a NY Giants fan here in Scotland for 25 years.  Will be flying across for Cowboys game on 2nd November - can you please give me some tips for clothes to wear in NY in November!  Scotland is cold at this time of year also.  Have a great season.  Regards A. O. Scotland  UK

Amani:  I imagine it’s going to be pretty cold.  I’d say it could be anywhere from the 20s to maybe in the 50s at the highest.  I think you’ll need a heavy jacket.  I also hope that we have a good game for you to enjoy.

hello amani,  my name is n. and i live in switzerland in europe.every day i watch your page and interwievs.thats make me happy.you are a very interessting mann ...i dont know what i can write to you.i think its not important my mail for you.would you like to have a dinner with me? you can visit me in switzerland and i show you my home.im 25 years old, born in hamburg germany and i think not ugly...ok maybe you write me back??? i hope so... N.

Amani:  Thank you for your support and I’m glad you’re a fan of American football.

Amani, You are one of the best and most underrated wide  receivers ever and truly a class act.  Congratulations on the Super Bowl win ( we New Yorkers love our Giants) and congratulations on making team  captain. Continue to believe in yourself and all the best to you and yours. Sincerely, T. Bronx, New York

Amani:  Thanks a lot, T.  I’m actually pretty excited about being a team captain as well as being on the leadership council.

As you of all people unfortunately know knee surgery stinks but if it needs  to be done who would you choose?  My husband is an Oral Surgeon and runner  with a a torn medial meniscus and is seeing the doctors at HSS.  He works  all day every day standing.  Thanks and good luck!   D. H.

Amani:  I guess I would say Dr. Russell Warren.  He’s the one who comes immediately to mind.  A lot of guys from other teams go to Dr. Warren so you know he’s very good.

Hi Amani!  My name is B. H.  I'm 16 and live in Iowa.  My Dad was born and raised in Brooklyn but his job moved him here.  He and I along with my brother and sisters are your biggest fans!  We watch every Giants game on our satellite.  Our family would like to congratulate you and the rest of the Giants on winning the Super Bowl!!!!

A few years back you played the day after Christmas in Cincinnati Ohio and  for my Christmas present, My Dad took me to the game and you told me Hello!  I will never
forget that.  Thank you and good luck this season.  B.

Amani:  Thank you, B. and thanks for your congratulations.  I’m glad you came out to the game but I think we lost that one if I remember that correctly.  If that’s so I wish we could have given you a better birthday present but I hope the Super Bowl made up for it a little.

Hey Amani: I wanted to send you the warmest greetings and wishes to you for 2008-2009.
I hope that you have a great season...the best of health and lots of
happiness.  I wrote you a letter last month...not sure if you received it or even read
it. I wanted to say thank you for signing your jersey.I received it for Christmas...it was the best present ever!  You signed it, "Lets Go Mo!"

I am a friend of R. H. (P. H's wife) P. told me that you are a "real nice guy and top of the line first class" player.  I was happy to hear that...but I already knew that...Take Care! The Best-M. D.P.

Amani: I didn’t receive the earlier letter, M, so I’m glad you wrote again.  I remember signing your shirt a while ago and I really appreciate your support and good wishes for the season.

My son just got back from a mission trip to Nicaragua.  He told me that he was certain he saw Amani Toomer of the Giants there at the market. I was just curious....Was he there?

Thanks,C.

Amani:  That's pretty amazing! I was in Nicaragua just before the start of training camp.  I was visiting friends and did go to a market one day so I think your son was correct.

Amani, we love you!! My mother's maddien name is Toomer! We might be family members. I have been a fan for years for that sole reason... well plus you rock!!  Go Toomers! Attached is a picture of my sister and I.

GO BIG BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amani:  Thanks for your support.  We may be related as  Toomer isn't a common name.

I'm sorry but I didn't receive the pictures.  These e-mails come to a remote web site which doesn't include attachments.

I am a huge fan of yours and i was wondering if you could send me an autograph card.  I would really Appreciate

Thanks J.M., age 14

Amani:  I'm sorry J.M. but I don't have an office or even a secretary to handle requests for autographs or autograph cards.  I hope you understand.

Hi! i have a 15year who loves football and as a single mom what advise can you give me to keep him focus.
Thank you. D.

Amani:  I’m not sure if you mean keep him focused on football or keep him focused on other things like school.  If he really loves football and you want to keep him focused on his schoolwork, just threaten to take away the football.

I always loved football and would do anything to play football and threatening to take it away would have worked to keep me focused on school.

Hi Amani, My name is J. and I have 2 questions. The first is what is a normal work day for you?  When does it start when does it end?  When you came to play the packers this year at the Radisson Paper Valley hotel me and my friends met your dad.  Your dad was very nice to us.  We gave him some cards because he said you would sign them when you have time.  Have you gotten to that yet?  Thank, J.

Amani:  Let me answer the second question first.  I never got those cards from my dad so I think he must have misplaced them.

As to a normal workday, it starts around 7:30 AM and ends around four in the afternoon.  We go in and have meetings in the morning followed by a walk-through and later practice.  Then it’s time for lunch followed by more meetings and then we’re done.  During the season, we lift twice a week so that has to be fit into the day too.

Dear Amani I am a huge fan of yours and i was wondering if you could send me an
autograph card.  I would really Appreciate  Thanks J.M. Age 14

Amani:  I’m sorry J.M but I have no way to respond to requests for autographs by mail because I don’t keep an office or secretary to handle these requests.  But anytime you see me in person I’d be happy to to sign an autograph for you. If you ever come to the practices at training camp in Albany, give me a shout after practice and I’ll sign.

on dec 23,07 i had the privledge of working the giants sideline in buffalo. After the game MR. Toomer gave me his gloves that he had worn for the game.I had one question about them.On the left glove , in black sharpie?
LowD?D?? or what it seems to be written ,  I was just curious about the meaning of that if there is one thankyou for your time and im looking forward to hearing back from you. V

Amani:  Those are just reminders to me of play calls and directions the receivers are to take.  Low is a remainder to me to keep low.

I am a huge fan,I recently purchased a set of cleats reported used by
you during the NFC championship game. They were autographed by you with
the word battle written on each toe. Can you verify that these are in
fact authentic?

Do you look at that during the game as a reminder and does that motivate
you psychologically. Again great performances and thanks.Again congratulations and thanks for some of my greatest sports memories. A fan always.  R.

Amani:  It definitely sounds like they’re authentic because I autographed those shoes and gave them to a charity event.   I always put Battle on my shoes.  Battle is just a shout out from my high school days when that was my nickname and I’ve just kept that on my shoes ever since.

My name is J. and I am 9 years old and one of your biggest fans.  I
found out in 2006 that we are cousins; My Great-Grandfather (DW)
was G. & S W’s uncle. I have been a NY Giant's fan ever
since.
I wanted to meet you at “The 2007 Grand Family Reunion” last year in
Atlanta get your autograph and S’s together.  I did get S’s
autograph and I am still hoping to get yours.
My football team (T-Wolves) won the Superbowl this year for my football
league (8-9 years old). I was defensive lineman of the Superbowl.  It was
great, but I want to play wide receiver, like you, next year.
Amani, when you find the time after the Superbowl, could I please have
your autograph?  J. A. M.

Amani: Congratulations on your Super Bowl win, J.  Kind of a coincidence that we both won our Super Bowl in the same year, isn’t it?

I hope we can meet sometime at one of the family reunions.  Then I can get an autograph from you and you can get one from me.  But I have no mail drop established for autograph requests and no secretary to handle the requests but I think we’ll meet at some family gathering.

Dear Amani, It's probably been 10 years since we spoke, but I had to send you a note
of congratulations letting you know how proud of you we are.  Awesome Super Bowl performance.  I can't tell you how happy we are to see all
the success you have had over the years, but even more so the fact that you remain such a class guy.
It took a little internet work to find this e-mail address for you, so I copied K. W. in case he wanted to shoot you a note.  He is about
the only one from the De La Salle team that I keep in touch with.
However I do see D. B. a couple times a year because his wife and mine hang out together.Enjoy the victory, you deserve it!!!! Sincerely, K.E.
 De La Salle #14

Amani: It’s great to hear from you K!   I wish you had given me a phone number because I’d like to give you a call.

My name is M. S.and I am 14 years old.I think Amani Toomer is a great WR.And I would really appreciate it if you would please send me an autograph of him,
Thanks, M

Amani:  I have no procedure for mailing autographs because I don’t have a secretary and can’t handle the requests myself.  I would be very happy to give you an autograph if you are at a game, a public appearance or even if we pass on the street. I hope you understand.

Hey Amani! G.H. here. My game is still rusty but I'm better. Thanks for asking. I am about 5 feet 6 inches and weight 178 lbs. I have been trying to lose inches of my waist to play wide receiver, but don't know what exercises or drills to do for it. Can ya help me? Thanks.

Amani:  Good to hear from you, G.  I would say that distance running is the best thing you can do to try and remain lean and stay in shape.

To whom it may concern,

This is an email more or less for Mr. Amani Toomer.  I am expressing my condolences toward the divorce.  It is a shame; however, the good news is that I'd be happy to have Mr. Toomer's kids.  I am almost around the stage in which I should be having babies, and I will be graduating from my Political Science program this spring.  So no worries.

Sincerely, M

Amani:  Thanks for writing and good luck in your studies.

Mr. Amani Toomer I read your unfortunate circumstances concerning your pending divorce.

Amani:  Thanks for your advice and concern.  Both are appreciated.

first i would like to say you are a great wide receiver. you are one of the reasons why the giants do so great. the giants will get them next year when your back in the game.

my question is, how do u maintain a balanced diet, like what do you eat?   j. n. from staten island.

Amani:   It’s really hard right now because I’m more sedentary than I like to be.  I’m trying to do as much exercise as I can without setting myself back.  It’s frustrating because I want to do more and it’s hard to eat right when you can’t.

Hey Amani! This is G.H. I have to ask you something about hands. Over the 2006-2007 season, I heard a lot of broadcasters talking about receivers with strong hands. What does it mean to have strong hands? How does a person get strong hands? Thank you. G. H.

Amani:  Hey, G. It’s good to hear from you again.  What the broadcasters are referring to by strong hands is that when you touch the ball, you make sure you have a good grip on it so no one can knock it out of your hands.  If you just practice catching the ball cleanly or solidly a lot, your hands will improve and over time you’ll have what is referred to as strong hands.

How's your game coming along?

Hello Amani,   This is D. from UofM. Its been years, so you probably don't remember who I am. We were in Freshman orientation together. Any way, wanted to say that I hope you recover completely from your injury. Also wanted to wish you all the best.  Best Wishes!   D. D.

Amani:  Freshman orientation, wow, that was a long time ago.  You really have a good memory!  I do expect to fully recover and appreciate your e-mail.  Thanks for writing.

Hello Mr.  Toomer,
My name is S. T. I married one of your brothers.  His name is D. T.  I watch you all the time and I am sorry about your injury.  I know and met a lot of your family in Ohio.  If it  possible can you get in touch with me your brother wants to write you.... Will you please get in touch with me.  Happy New Year.  S. T.

Amani:  I don’t have a brother named D so I think you have the wrong branch of the Toomer family.  I do appreciate your good wishes and support though.

Hello Amani, NJ.com "star Ledger" has an article where they are quoting a few eagles players who had some things to say about the Giants.

I dont know about you or the other players on the team, BUt I know if It was me, I would hang this stuff on my locker at work, I would hang it in my bathroom mirror, and anywhere else I needed to, In order to feed my will to prove them wrong.  If the only thing the giants do this year is knock the eagles out of the playoffs, then that in itself would be a very sweet thing to feel good about...

Thanks if you've read this far.  I hope some of the other players also read this.  Happy New year, Get well, and see you next year.   S. H.

Amani: I’m afraid I received this late but I do appreciate your good wishes.

Just wanted to say, i hope your recovery is going well and i am looking forward to seeing you again kick some butt out on the field next season. thanks for all your seasons with the giants. your an outstanding player. B. R.

Amani: Thanks, B.  It's good to hear from you and my recovery is going well.  I'm on schedule to be ready for training camp and I hope a healthy Giants' team will go all the way to the Super Bowl next year.

They are suffering without you   Just hope you are doing well.  The Giants sorely miss you.  As I watch the playoff game, it comes to mind what an integral part of the Giants team you are.  Hurry and get well.  The Giants need you.Best, M. P.

Amani:  Thanks for your support, MA.  I am doing well and expect to be ready to go by the time training camp starts.  Hopefully, next year we'll all be injury-free and able to compete in the Super Bowl

hi amani toomer how are you doing well write me back .  you are my fan  I love you amani toomer  bye.  A.W.

Amani:   Hi. Thanks for e-mailing me and I want you to know that I'm doing very well and it was good to hear from you.

Just wanted to know who decides when you and your team will wear your alternate red jersey's . and if there is anything as to why there worn on a specific game. i have noticed that you havent worn them yet this season. as today was week 9. I still think your an outstanding player and hope that you continue playing at your best for all us Giants fan! B. R.

Amani: I appreciate your kind words and, as you saw, the Giants wore their red jerseys last week when they played Dallas.

Hey Amani, long time no see.  I have been there a few times but must have missed you. (T.B.R.) I was stunned when I heard the news today.  My best wishes for a smooth and speedy recovery.
Be well, A.L.

Amani:  I haven’t seen you around either so I guess we’re just missing each other.  Thanks for your good wishes and I hope everything is going well for you.

Amani, As a long time Giant fan who lives in PA and has to get satelite and the football package just to watch Giants games I would like to express my regrets and best wishes for your speedy recovery. To me, you represent the epitome of the NY Giants, uncomplaining, willing to do any role given, 100 percent effort, I can very easily see number 81 being retired at Giants stadium. In this day and age of ego encumbered receivers such as Chad Johnson, TO etc.. Your preformance and attitute were so refreshing to me…

I moved from North jersey to PA over 20 years ago.. I hadnt seen a Live giants game since 1986. A few years ago I attented the Giants/Philly game at Giants stadium (devasting last minute loss) and while I was there, I wanted to purchase a football jersey for my wife who is also a Giants fan and a great fan of yours.. She loved you since watching you on Giants game plan, Giants online etc..

I was tempted to purchase number 21… but ended up selecting 81 and have been very happy with you decision.. My wife has since passed away so that jersey is now mine..

To me. Yourself and Tiki represent the Giants tradition to the tee.. Great work ethic, great talent and of course… very under rated by everyone in the media..

Best of Luck and look forward to your season next year..

Get well soon..
D.C.

Amani:  I really appreciate your support and want to offer my condolences on the loss of your wife.

Please tell Mr. Toomer that I've been a fan for 20 years and his injury probably hurts me more than any other that I can remember.  He always plays so well and comes through for his team in such dramatic ways.  I am looking forward to seeing him out there next year and maybe some day, making a bid to teach future giants wideouts on how to play at such a high level of skill and understanding of the game.  I really miss you. All the best.
Your Fan, S
P.S. Please help Tryree and Carter,  Eli doesnt have all day anymore now that Luke's out and I think they still need you.

Amani:  Thank you.  As for Tyree and Carter, I think they’re doing well and have the coaching staff to help them.  It’s a tough situation when you lose a starting lineman but I think they will be fine.

hay amani toomer i know your a football player . did you retire .as you know by my email  my name is also amani and i am arabic.so how did you get yourname .i am 13 years old.  di you know amani means peace and wish!! A.A.

Amani:  No, I’m not retired but I got hurt this year and can’t play until next season.  My name is African and I did know it meant peace but not wish.

Can you tell us the status of the Amani Toomer Foundation and TURF?
We would like to make a donation in recognition of what you have done
for the Giants, their fans, and the greater world, but our web search
fails to bring up active sites.

Also, we would like to purchase a $50.00 autographed print of
the 'streak-ending catch' in the Denver game of 12/13/98. Can you
tell us to whom we should send check?

We extend our deep concern regarding the torn ACL and our wishes for a
full recovery. T.F. and M.S.

Amani:  Thanks very much for your concern, it’s really appreciated.

The photograph you want can be purchased on my web site if you go Photo Shop and click on Contact Us.

The Amani Toomer Foundation is active and, in fact, we’re going to open another park in one of the outer boroughs on Tuesday.  We have had to revamp the site a little bit but it will be back on-line again shortly but you can contact the webmaster on amani.com in the meantime.

Hi, I am one of those silent but observant fans. I read everything I can on the web and watch the games closely.

I don't mind saying you have been my father's (now deceased) and my favorite player since you joined the Giants. At first we liked you because of all the potential we saw, now I like you for the unselfish team mate and through professional you have become.

It was heartbreaking to hear of your season ending injury. Though seldom pointed out by the media, I thought you were having one of the best years I had seen  of any wide receiver EVER on the Giants. I appreciate your contribution to the Giants success and you will be sorely missed.

God speed in your recovery. Don't lose hope, adversity illuminates the measure of the man. I know you can come back, I believe in you.

Giant's fan (2nd generation),W.K.

Amani:  Thank you, W. K., I really appreciate your support and good wishes.  I’ve already started rehab so I’m on my way back.  "See" you next season.
Amani, I just had to drop you another line and wish you the best...Hope today's surgery was successful and you heal well, and quickly.  You will ALWAYS be my favorite NY GIANTS wideout!  I will continue to pray for you...  You also need to know that you and your clutch play will most definitely be missed!!!  Love you & may God continue to bless, J. P.

Amani: Thank you, J.P. It was good to hear from you.  Your support means a lot to me.

Hey Amani! This is G.H. I know that I've been bugging you a lot with all of my questions, so when I heard that you were going to be out the remainder of the season with a torn ACL, I had to e-mail you about something other than football. I really wish you well, and I hope next season you will come back better than ever. Thank you.  G.H.

Amani:  You never bug me, G.H. and I'm always glad to hear from you.  Thanks for your good wishes.  I hope you're having fewer problems catching the ball now.

I just wanted to send Amani my well wishes for a speedy recovery for his partial tear of his ACL.  I sympathize since I tore my ACL testing for my black belt in TKD back in September.  I will be having surgery on the 28th of this month.Take care, K.R.(a 23-year Giants Fan)

Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail, K.  My surgery was successful and I have already started rehab. I hope things go well for you also and you come back stronger than ever.

I'm not sure whether you will receive this email Amani but I hope you do.  We met not too long ago.  We sat together at the Athlete's First charitable event in Orange County.  Anyways, just wanted to say "Keep your head up and get healthy soon.  We Giants fans miss you badly."  My family and I are flying in for the Dec.3 Dallas game to cheer you guys on.  Can't wait to see you kick some butt when you return!!!  Peace, M.B.

Amani:  I do receive all the e-mails that are sent to my web site and I want to say how much I appreciate your support.

I hope you and your family have a great day at Giants Stadium.  Root us on to a win!

Hey Amani! How have you stayed in such great physical shape for so long? What kind of exercise drills do you do to keep your body in such great physical shape?  G. H.

Amani:  I do a lot of yoga and a lot of distance running.  And then I do Kung Fu also.

Hey Amani! G.H. again. Wouldn't you also have to have lightning quick reflexes to be able to locate the ball and get your hands up to catch it when it's coming at you about 90 miles an hour? Also: How are you able to catch the ball so well? I have tried to run a whole route with my fingers spread out, but the ball ended up hitting the palm of my hand and not my fingers. Is that just bad hand-eye coordination? Thank you.G.H.

Amani:  You can’t run the route with your hands spread out; it’s something you have to react to.  You can’t run and try to catch the ball at the same time.  It’s something you have to do at the very end because otherwise you’ll tighten up and then the ball will hit you in the palms.  Don’t worry about where your hands are. Concentrate on running your route and where your eyes are.  As for your hand-eye coordination, it could be a lot of things.  If you tense up, you can’t catch the ball.  You have to be relaxed running and then catching the ball.

I am praying for the team all the time.  I am a huge GIANTS fan and would love to see you go to the superbowl and win for no other reason but that I want to be able to rub it in my good for nothing lying cheating ex's face.  C.W.

Amani:  We’ll all do our best to get there.

Hey Amani! I would like to know how is it that you're able to catch the ball when Eli has thrown before you make the break in your route? When you were a kid, did you do any drills that prepared you for that? Last question. What advice would you give a high school freshman who hasn't been given the chance to show people that he can run a route and catch a ball? Thank you. G.H.

Amani:  Catching the ball out of the break and timing the ball is an important part of being a receiver and I think one of my strengths.  You have to be able to pick up the ball pretty quick and that’s one of the things that I pride myself on a lot. You have to know the general area the ball will be at, kind of a box and you look in that box for it.  If you don’t know where it’s coming, that’s when the ball will go by you and the receiver will look unprepared for the ball.  It helps to know the quarterback and the area he throws the ball.

Try to do everything   If you’re a fast receiver don’t try to just run go routes; if you’re a slow receiver don’t try to just work on moves, work to improve your speed too.  I think you have to be versatile.  Run inside, run outside, because the more things you can do the better. I’m talking about blocking, your stance, everything.  Catch a lot of balls after practice.   Catching is important and you have to be aware of boundaries.  People don’t understand the importance of coming out of breaks properly so that’s always something to work on and that doesn’t take quickness, it’s all technique.

I think the thing that helped me the most was playing baseball and catching the deep balls.  Also, I played soccer, which helped me a lot with footwork.  And my mom got me into ballet as a little kid and that helped me also.  When you’re running and turn you have to open your hips and that’s what ballet dancers do. Or you lift your knee and open your hips to get your body around.  You do a jump turn, that kind of thing.

Try to eliminate all the things that people think you can’t do and I think you’ll have a great chance of success

I met you at the ESPN NFL Draft party in NYC earlier this year.  I asked if you could get 20 TD's and if Strahan could get 20 sacks.  So far you've got 3 and I'd love to see you get 17 more.  What do you think? C. C., Giants Fan since '79

Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail, C.  I’d love to get 17 more too.

Since you've been "losing a step" every year (seemingly forever, why is it that you get beyond the defense...don't they care about you? When Eli who "has a cannon for an arm" throws to you beyond the defense, why do you have to slow or come back to the ball...is that to give the other team a chance?

Fans need to watch the game themselves and realize that no one passes an intelligence test to be a sportswriter or sports commentator.  M.F.

Amani:  It's good to hear from you, M.  About all I can say is what Strahan told me when I told him people were saying I was slowing down.  He told me, "Well, I've been slowing down for five years."  So I looked at that and just didn't put much stock in what they're saying.  But I appreciate the support, M.

Just wanted to know who decides the jerseys color you will wear on gameday?  And what's up with the red jerseys? I love them.  B. R. Amani:  I think it's one of those things where you petition the NFL and they give you a couple of dates to choose from.  I expect we will wear them again this year but I don't know when it will be. Last year it was when we played Dallas and the year before was Philadelphia.
Dear Amani, The Toomer family in Louisiana has been following your football career for some time.  My name is E. D., a native of Franklinton, LA now living in Miami, Florida for years.  Most of my mother's side of the family Toomers lives in the New Orleans area.  A lot of them have been displaced to the Houston, Texaas area due to Katrina.  I was in Houston during the Thanksgiving week.  During a discussion while watching you play on Sunday, November 27, 2005, I was told that you were a relative of Charles Toomer of New Orleans.  If you are just want you to know that you make all the Toomer family in Louisiana very proud of you.  If you are not we are still proud because you take the Toomer name to a new level.  May God continue to Bless you and looking forward to your reply.  E.D. Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail.  There aren't that many people named Toomer but originally my family lived in Albany, Georgia.  I don't know that we're any relation but I think ther'e's a good chance of it.
dear, amani ,how did you feel when it was the last game in nov. in 2005 when the seattle seahawks coach challenged that amazing tuchdown you made? youre #1 fan l.m.c. Amani:  Basically, whenever they go to the replay, I get nervous.  Replay has taken a lot of what I thought were touchdown catches away from me.  I never want to go to replay; I just want to get it over with.  Thanks for your e-mail.

I've been a fan of the New York Giants my whole life and a great admirer of you as well.  i was so excited that i was able to go to Giants stadium for the first time im my life after 32 years. and see you and the Giants play againts Minnesota.  it was a life long dream.  growing up in Az we didn't have a team back them so i followed the giants whenever i could. and you scoring a touchdown at the game just took me over the top.  plus i was able to get some great pictures of you.  good luck on the rest of your career and all your charities.  Go big blue.  B

Amani:  Thanks for your e-mail, B.  I really appreciate your support and wish that your first game at the stadium could have been a victory for the Giants.  Hopefully, the next time you're there we'll pull out a win for you to enjoy.

god bless the g-men and mr. mara
To Mr Toomer:  Just dropping a quick note saying thanks for a great season so far and the best of luck to you and your teammates the rest of the way. Go Giants!! Go Michigan!!  B. L.

Amani:  Thank you, B. L.  I appreciate your support.  You didn’t say but I’m guessing you went to Michigan also.

Amani  Great game. Great win. Great catch! Couldn't happen to a better guy. It's about time they realized that you are open. You met myself and my boys at the Garden a couple of years ago at a knick game. You took the time to stop and shake there hands. I couldn't have been more impressed. Both my boys wear jersey. They say your "the man". They're right. Good job yesterday. E. A.

Amani:  Thank you and thank your boys for me, too.  Give me a shout if you see me at a Knicks game again.

Hey Amani!  Awesome catch to win the game! It was nice to hear the comments from Shockey, Eli and Burress about you.  I know it's impossible to tell but you seem to be much more comfortable playing the "Z" receiver.  Do you find this position a more physical position that your previous one?   Is there more bump and run? Good Luck against Washington!  A. C. Amani:  Thank you. It’s more physical but not because of the coverage.  It’s more physical because I’m doing more blocking on the free safety.  But anytime you’re on the field, it really doesn’t matter where you’re playing.  I enjoy playing Z and it’s pretty much the same as playing X but with a couple of different routes.

Dear Amani:   I just wanted to send a shout out to you for your break-out game. Funny to be calling it that 10-years in, eh?  As excited as I have been about our team over the last two years and Eli's potential, I have been saddened to see your role reduced and have waited hopefully to see you re-integrated into the offense. Six catches and a T.D. on one drive?  I hope that means that you and Eli have your timing and confidence all worked out.  Much success, and thanks for all the great play over the years.  M. H.

Amani:  Thank you very much.  I really appreciate your support and hopefully Eli and I will continue to work well in the future.

Sunday was a great day.  But really an ordinary one for you, Amani Toomer.  You caught the winning pass but that is no real news.  You have been doing that for the Giants for years.  Thanks from a fan who thinks you are the tops and a classy and smart gentlemen as well.  M. A. P. Amani:  Thank you, I really appreciate your support. Sunday was an exciting day for me,too.

Amani, Just wanted to say your catch against the Rams was unbelievable... I was at the game and I think everyone around me agreed it was the most athletic TD reception we've ever seen in our lives! But my question to you is this: If you had to narrow it down to just one play, what was your favorite catch that you ever made in the NFL? For some reason, the one that really stood out all of these years was the TD you had against the Colts in 2002 when you ran the flea-flicker and caught that 70-yard bomb from Kerry... it was awesome! Thanks, Amani, and best of luck this season -- we're looking good!!!  D. R. Amani:  I think my favorite catch was the one against Denver, the first one against Denver.  The second touchdown catch is right behind because it’s so, I don’t know exactly how to explain it.  When you catch the winning touchdown, it’s like you have done something you dreamed of all your life, ever since you were a little kid.  And when it actually happens, it’s a play you’ll never forget.  Those two are definitely special to me.

Dear Amani, It irks me that the "geniuses" who get paid to report on the game performances have not stated the most obvious fact about your TD catch. It was preceded by the same play thrown unsuccessfully to the other WR...the one running your old position who was named "Player of The Week".
Television coverage may not show what happens, but Eli releases the pass before the WR is looking. It is the WR's responsibility to get to the spot. Eli threw the ball perfectly twice. Plaxico could only wave one hand at the first ball because he didn't run the pattern correctly...he was too far from the end line.
When they came back to play on 4th down, the only difference was the receiver and the result...Toomer = TD !  Although your modesty prohibits trumpeting the fact, I hope that the position coaches used your route running (and results) as a teaching point for the other WRs during film review.  Here's hoping that at least Eli noticed and gives you more throws. Best regards, M.F.

Amani:  Thanks for your support, M. F.  I really appreciate it and, of course it’s always nice to have someone appreciate what you do.

hi im a big amani fan growing up in northern california. im not particularly a giants fan nor a michigan fan but i am a de la salle high fan. i was wondering if there was a way i could get an autograph thank you. S. L.B.

Amani:  As you know, I’m a big De La Salle fan, too. I don’t have a staff or anyone to help me with e-mail or mailed requests for autographs so; unfortunately, I’m unable to respond to them.  However, if you ever see me any place, just call out and I’ll be glad to meet you and sign an autograph for you.

To whom it may concern,
I have never sent an email like this before but I want Amani to know how much 1 giant fan in Texas loves what he has done for us fans. I was really hoping that he would get a big pass on Sunday and was disappointed to see that not happen.

I know the ball will come his way this year and when it does, my favorite reciever in football will be the recipient. Peace, R. S.
Amani:  Cool. Thanks for your support, I really appreciate it.  In the second game, when I made my first catch of the year, it really meant a lot to me when the fans gave me a big ovation.  That was something I’ll never forget, definitely.

Hey Amani,  Are you related to the great African American writer Jean Toomer? P. H.

Amani: You know, I don’t know but there aren’t many Toomers so it’s a possibility.  I read Jean Toomer’s poetry in college and wondered the same thing.

hey amani!!!!!! im S. L. and i live ib concord california. im sure u know which highschool is in concord!!!! well my brother played for dls last year and of course they lost to bellevue mission viejo and clovis west. how much pressure was on u when u played de la salle varsity, and do u think it was as competitive as it is now??? and also i wanted to know if u still have ur old dls varsity jerseys??? Thanks S.L.

Amani:  I do still have my jerseys.  How competitive was it?  I think it definitely was as competitive.  It was very competitive when I was there.
Amani, How can my Daughter join your fan club? Her name is B and she was posted on the Giants fan of the week for two months last season. (Giants web page)  Thank you, B & S H Amani:   B. & S. H. I appreciate your daughter’s support and I’m happy to have B. as a fan.   I don’t have a fan club as such but my web site was created for the use of my fans.  I wanted to have a way for fans to contact me and tell me their thoughts or ask me questions.  Please tell B. that I would be happy to hear from her.

Hey, Amani!  I'm a huge Giants fan, and of course I'm a big-time fan of yours -- we met at the Giants Draft Day Party in 2003, and it was certainly an honor to meet you. I'm actually one of the moderators for the Giants.com message boards (Stop by the boards one day!) and there has been much debate over your injury from last season.

My question is: how much would you say your hamstring injury in 2004 affected your performance? I honestly have always considered you to be an elite NFL receiver, and with newly-acquired Plaxico Burress you two may very well be one of the most dangerous WR tandems in the league. Do you think you will definitely bounce back from last year and what do you think the keys are to your success in 2005 now that you are healthy and are more familiarized with "sophomore" QB, Eli Manning?
Take care, Amani, and best of luck this season and beyon. May God bless your friends and family -- and of course, go Giants!  Regards, D

Amani:  First of all, I think the injury played a big role in the year I had.  I think part of the problem stems my not being able to run full speed.  That really held me back.  I mean, what’s a receiver that can’t run?  I was pretty proud of the fact that I did struggle through the whole year because it’s always easier to just sit on the sidelines and watch everyone else with their problems.  I think staying healthy and being able to adjust quickly to the Z will determine how productive the year will be.

Amani! I just want you to know that I' am a huge fan of yours and I think you are an amazing catchin prospect in the entire NFL, but don't you ever wonder if New York is not the right place for you to be. You are the type of guy who can go into a season and get over 1,000 yards, but with a new face in Plaxico and Shocky being the main target I think that you might be better in a team that could really use a catcher with your type of talents. The Browns don't have many offensive weapons on their team except Antonio Bryant. If you were on the Browns team you could even mentor Bryant into being one of the best. New England could also use a few offensive powers like yourself.  S.  G.

Amani:  That may sound good in theory but I have a contract with the Giants and I’m going to live up to my end of the bargain so, until they tell me otherwise, I plan on playing for the Giants.

Dear Amani,

I remember reading last off-season that you had put on a few pounds of muscle. Do you think that the added weight could have slowed you down a little bit and hurt your season?  RB in New Jersey

Amani:  I think any time you make changes to your body, you put different stresses on it.  I suppose it might have contributed to it but mostly I think the hamstring injury contributed more than anything else.

Amani,

Just met your high school friend (Aaron Taylor///San Diego Chargers & Notre Dame). He just arrived here in Sri Lanka for a month or so. Heping him meet some of the great contacts we have made. I hear you are coming later in the month. We will be gone by then---would like to have met you. We have been here (from Okinawa) since 02 Jan. Combined Support Group-Sri Lanka stands-down
soon, but reconstruction will go on for years. Makes me feel good to know that one of my Giants will continue helping these wonderful people. Good on you! Enjoy your trip, there is much still to do. I'll watch you in the playoffs from Okinawa next year. B.J.V. lll, Col. USMC, Director, Combined Disaster Relief Center, Combined Support Group Sri-Lanka

Amani:  Aaron and I have been corresponding by e-mail.  I appreciate your support and I can’t wait to get there and try to help these people out.  Sorry that you will be gone by then and that we won’t have a chance to meet.
Amani, Team up with Tiki's workout and Win the ,"Comeback player of the Year"!!!

Show these guys it's not an abberation Amani. I know you still have plenty in the tank. Prove the Naysayers wrong and comeback with a vengeance! Work hard in the offseason , like Tiki , to make that aging body feel younger and be more durable. Hook up with Eli in the offseason in the feilds of gold and get your timing down ala Peyton to Harrison style!! 2005! is your year my friend..

May god bless you and thank you for all you doo!!

Amani:  Thanks for your support, Die Hard. It was a disappointing season for me, of course, so your support means a lot. I have run the hill that's usually referred to as Tiki's workout. Back when Greg Comella was with the Giants, we ran it.
hello,

Well I was glad to hear at least 1 Giant
player speak up about Warner.

There are only 3 sometimes 4 players in Giants
offense (you) Toomer,Barber,Warner and poorly used
Shockey..

No QB can play well with 39 sack to date.

Wish Warner had a way I could contact to
throw my thoughts.

Rams screwed him and now Giants do it...

Hey!Coach Tom Coughlin if you'd learn how to coach
then the games would be different.
You should of looked at the success of Warner
at Rams style offense .
Which to me at one time who like a Arena Football offense .
Speed kills any defense.

Then Toomer you would have Holt or Bruce Numbers
each game...
Because you are a excellent WR ...

Now Manning when he plays he get correct for everything
and blame for nothing....
Fact he is not his brother.....
Get the ice manning will need it..

Sincerely,
DP
Amani:  Thank you for your support.  You know I’m a big fan of Kurt as well.
Dear Amani,
I have been following the great things you have been doing with your foundation and I think it is WONDERFUL!  What a great example you are setting for other people to follow.  I recently saw one of your fans wrote in about your brother being at the Las Vegas Airport.  A few of the single ladies I know were wondering if your brother is single, and if he ever visits L.A., being so close to Las Vegas.  Good Luck with the rest of the season.  L.M.
Amani:  Yeah, my brother is single and he does go to LA every once in a while.  It’s funny because when we were young and my brother came to my school all the girls went crazy.  I would tell the girls, “Well, we look so much alike” and the girls would all say, “Nah, you don’t look alike.”
Dear Amani,
This is B. H., I went to De La Salle and graduated in 1991. I played football, but only up to the JV level.
The reason for my e-mail is to request two autographs from you. One is for my son Dylan, who is only 2 years-old, but loves watching football on saturday and sunday. The second autograph is for a gentleman who has helped me succeed in the lumber business, his name is Rick Tubbs, he is a huge Giant's Fan!
Anyway, me and my wife currently live in North Carolina, close to Raliegh. I am a lumber broker for a hardwood lumber company, I've been very successful.
In closing, I think it is awsome how yourself, Aron Taylor, Doug Brien, Brent Barry and others have had professional athletic careers. Take care and fell free to contact me by e-mail or telephone.

Regards,
B. H.
Amani:  B. H. I’m glad to hear from you, especially since you went to my school, De La Salle.  Unfortunately, I am unable to respond to e-mail requests for autographs as I get so many that I would need to have a secretary to handle them all.  If you’re ever at a Giants game, or we meet on the street somewhere, of course, I would be glad to sign for you.  I hope you understand.
I am so happy this Thursday I will be at the last preseason Game against Baltimore, and it's a game that I can finally take my son to. I have Joint custody of him, and I have him Wednesday till Saturday, and his mother would never let me take him on a Sunday. Well this year we are going! It's pre-season, but who cares. I'm looking forward to it, and we are looking forward to seeing you play! We just had a young man go to Michigan from Onondaga NY, Mike Hart. I saw him play several games in H.S., he will be something to watch for years to come.
Like to comment on the website of both the Studio 81 Foundation and your homepage. I enjoy them both. Hey, is Andrea Hoffman single? He he he, she's hot! Well, take care and good luck with 2004, and stay healthy!! Do you actually read all these? D.O'H.
Amani: Thanks for your good wishes.  I'm glad to hear you and your son will have a chance to go to a game and I wish we had made it a more fun experience for both of you . I try to watch Michigan games so I'll keep an eye out for Mike Hart. Yes, I do read and answer my e-mails.  The primary reason I wanted a web site was to give fans a way to contact me.
Blue Heart
It was nice talking to you again at the draft. Do you think Strahan got an unnecessary amount of flack from the media for expressing his concerns about going into the season with a rookie at the helm? I don’t see how anyone could not be concerned.
See you at camp.
I’ll be in the Collins jersey.
Amani: I think he has the right to say what he wants to say if that’s the way he feels. He’s been with the team a long time. He was around the team when there was a young quarterback who was struggling and I know he doesn’t want to go through that type of thing again.
AMANI! You are the best dawg.....GO GIANTS!!!!!!!! M. D.
Amani: Thanks, M. D. I hope the Giants will GO this season-all the way through the playoffs and into the Super Bowl! It should be an exciting season. Thanks for writing.
I met a guy at the airport over the weekend. His name was Donald Toomer. He is a broker in Las Vegas. I just realized he may be Amani’s brother. Is this true? G. A.
Amani: You described my brother, G. A. Perhaps you and I will run into each other at the airport someday too, because I go to Vegas to visit Donald as frequently as possible.
Sup Amani!?
I have your rookie card. The one that has Amani "The Well Dressed" Toomer. It's in real good condition. It's awesome! I really love the giants. My name is A. S.

See you soon, man

Amani: Thanks for writing. I glad you’re enjoying my rookie card and that you’re a loyal Giants’ fan. You say you’ll see me soon. Do you go to any of the games or will you see me on TV?
Hey Amani (or Amani's web master),

I am a huge Giants fan who knows better than anybody on the planet just how horribly average Giants wide receivers have been traditionally. Therefore, you might be able to imagine my excitement as I jumped up and down on my couch on draft day in 1996, during our second round selection. Perhaps you can also imagine how I freaked while watching some games in which we saw stats like "6 for 181 and 3". Or " 8 for 194 and 1". Or "10 for 204 and 3". I wear my Amani NYG #81 every gameday. You can also imagine my sense of fan loyalty to The Man who wears #81 for Big Blue.

What you cannot possibly imagine is the frustration I am experiencing in trying to find me just ONE home blue Michigan Wolverine #18 jersey with "Toomer" on the back.

Any ideas where I can get one?

Thanks! M. J. R.
Amani: M. J. R., I imagine you’ve already contacted Michigan about my college jersey. If you can’t get a #18 jersey there, they probably don’t exist anymore. You can have jerseys custom made but they’re pretty expensive.
Hey Amani

Let me first start off by saying what a HUGE fan i am of you and the New York Football Giants! I live and die by you guys! I don't know enough positive adjectives to describe how much i love the team.

Being a big fan, this past Christmas my wife went on line and bought me a framed autographed picture of you. It is truly great and the best present i've got in years. At first i didn't recognize who it was, because the number on your jersey was #18. I know this was your number in High School and College, and your first couple of years you were #89, then switched to #81. my question is, did you ever wear #18 in a G-Men uniform?

Thanks E. B.

P.S. I now live in Cincinnati and can't wait for you guys to come to town this coming season and kick some Bengal butt. Good Luck!
Amani: I wore #18 during my rookie pre-season with the Giants. After training camp, of course, I had to change it to a legal NFL receiver’s number. I don’t know if you read it anywhere but the NFL just recently changed the rules for wide receiver numbers. Now they can also be in the ‘teens.
I really don't have a question, I just wanted to get in touch with you and wish you the best of luck this Football season...

I was born and raised in NY.. so the Giants will my team no matter where i live...

F. M.
Amani: You don’t have to have a question to write me, F. M. I’m glad to hear from you and glad that the Giants are still your team even though you live in the South now.
Subject: APTOS MIDDLE SCHOOL

AMANI
I KNOW THAT YOU ARE FROM CALI. BUT I WANTED TO KNOW THAT IF YOU EVER ATTENDED APTOS MIDDLE SCHOOL IN SAN FRANCISCO. MY NAME IS H. H. AND WENT TO APTOS AND PLAY SOCCER. I HAVE PICTURES WITH A TEAMMATE NAME AMANI TOOMER AND I JUST THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE YOU.
Amani: That’s amazing, H. H.! I did play soccer for Aptos Middle School so I probably am the guy in the picture with you. I have some team pictures too, so I’ll go through them and find you. Thanks for writing.
Hey Amani you are my favorite player. i hope to get to a game and see you in real life. whats it like going up against champ bailey and catching a touch down against him? D.R
Amani: In the last three years, I think I’ve scored on him every time we played against him. Now he’s in Denver and I wish him well. I think he’s one of the best corners in the league and he has good technique. You can’t be the best until you beat the best and that’s what I did so I feel good about that.
Do you have any special tricks that allow you to get separation? F.
Amani: The only trick you can use is with your footwork. The thing that will set you apart from other veteran receivers is how fast you can go from full speed to breakdown and change directions. That’s the key to being a top receiver. The receivers who can change directions well, like Jerry Rice, for example, are the top receivers in the League.
Do you expect to have a good season with a rookie quarterback? J. S.
Amani: Yes, we have a good team around him. Hopefully, he has more support than all the other rookie quarterbacks who were drafted. Usually when a team drafts high, there is a reason that they’re a poor team. I don’t think that’s the case with us. I think we’re a playoff team that had a bad season last year. We’re not a bad team, we had a lot of injuries but we have good players and we can build on that
What do you think about the idea of Collins leaving? and the fact you will be playing with an inexperience QB? B. B.
Amani: B. B., as I said in the recent interview on this site, I’m sad to see Kerry go as I have a great deal of respect for him as a person and as a man. At the same time, I’m excited to play with Eli Manning and am looking forward to a good season
